Wampler's Faux Spring Reverb in a Compact Package

Wampler's Mini Faux Spring Reverb injects any amplifier with the drip, decay, and personality of a genuine spring reverb — up to 2.8 seconds' worth — via its pedalboard-friendly, maintenance-free compact digital design. Dialing in your perfect sound is a piece of cake. This stompbox's straightforward 3-knob interface gives you all the control you need without overwhelming you. The Mini Faux Spring Reverb is built with high-grade components and features true bypass switching. Spring reverb is essential to great guitar tone. Nail it with the Mini Faux Spring Reverb.

Famous Wampler spring reverb

The original Faux Spring Reverb can be found on pedalboards throughout the world. This compact version of that pedal delivers the same incredible performance, and it's sure to fit in the space you have left on your board. Its twangy and percussive ambient effects are tailor-made for guitar and will lend a classic sound to everything you play. Guitarists everywhere are sure to swarm to the Mini Faux Spring Reverb.

Intuitive control layout

The Mini Faux Spring Reverb's simple-to-use 3-knob layout makes finding your perfect sound effortless. The Level knob controls the amount of reverb that's merged with your original signal. The Tone knob controls the overall tonality of the reverb without affecting your base tone. The Depth knob dictates the amount of time the reverb continues on before fading out. This is a great addition to the Wampler lineup, and you'll find it here at Sweetwater.

High-quality construction

The first thing that will strike you about the Mini Faux Spring Reverb is its diminutive size. This comes in handy because it conserves valuable pedalboard space. The pedal's true bypass switching keeps your dry signal pristine and unaffected. Brian Wampler is well known for only using the best components available in all of his electric guitar effects pedals, and the Mini Faux Spring Reverb is a great example of this dedication to quality.

Reviews

Wampler Reverb
Awesome reverb unit!
I run twin Marshall DSL20 Combos. Owners of these amps know that the reverb on these are less than desired. After some research I decided to purchase one of these units. It's simplicity and size were contributing factors in my decision. I must say, I'm really impressed by this little unit. Fits perfectly on my pedalboard and gives me all the reverb and more that I want.
Great product Wampler!
Music background: Over 50 yrs playing guitar.
Great pedal
I'm using this in conjunction with my MXR Echoplex delay pedal to get an incredible Rockabilly sound. Wampler pedals are great, love them!
Music background: Professional Musician
Love it!
Unpacked it and ran it through my 5e3 clone with a Strat, the amp never sounded so good! From subtle to surf, and even a slap back effect with the knobs dimed. Tweed and reverb!
"I really like mine!"
Be careful:

I purchased this device in November of 2018, and I remember specifically reading so many contradicting reviews. It's my opinion that there is no such thing as bad gear. All gear is good. The question is then: Does a particular piece of gear do for you what you want/need? The answer, of course, is based on where you are on your unique tonal journey which may or may not change as you grow and develop. It's also important to note that everyone's ideal spring reverb sound is a little different as is the sound (haha) of literally every spring reverb tank. Also, important to note that people use spring reverbs in different ways for different reasons and methods. What I'm trying to say is: Read reviews carefully, because it's really all subjective (based on personal feelings, tastes, and opnions.)

Overview:

It is exactly what it says that it is: a faux (fake/imitation of/artificial) spring reverb. There are no false claims in the title. I love that! Will it sound and respond exactly like a true spring reverb? Of course not! Can it get ridiculously close? You better believe it! I personally believe this will be most loved by people that are seeking an always on, subtle amp style spring reverb. In my opnion: it does this very well. I really like mine!

Details:

1.) Mine does make a popping sound when engaging/disengaging the pedal. This does not bother me, because I use it as an always on pedal. (This might actually be something that I am doing wrong as far as powering the device.)

2.) I am really sensitive and easily annoyed by gear that has a high noise floor (adds noise/hum/hiss when engaged). I often return or resale them almost immediately if they do, but this pedal does not bother me in the least bit. I have heard horror stories about noisy reverb pedals. Mine has really impressed me with just how quiet that it is (other than that on/off pop).

3.) I love that it does not seem to brighten, darken, color, or change my core tone (to my ears)!

4.) It seems to me that most pedal builders (admittedly) try to sneak in a touch of modulation into even their spring reverbs? I personally do not like that. I dare say that I hate it! If there is modulation in this pedal: I can't hear it.

5.) The controls have a huge range! I find this very useful!

Hope this is helpful to you! Cheers!
Wampler Mini Faux Spring Reverb Pedal
For such a small pedal it is very versatile and compatible with different types of music. Easy to use and made really well. Very impressed with the pedal and the quality of the sounds it is capable of producing.
