Incredible Assortment of Creative Delay Controls

Arturia pays tribute to the beauty of the original Memory Man pedal with the expanded and dynamically creative Memory Brigade delay plug-in. Complete with all-analog circuitry and an awesome selection of included effects, constructing a unique delay for your recording project with classic vibe and presence has never been easier! Three delay modes cue different panning effects, while an assortment of controls, including Width, Chorus, and Feedback, allow you to begin your shaping excursion. A lower panel exposes three advanced modules such as EQ, Envelope Follower, and LFO, enabling you to get as granular as you want. Sweetwater studio enthusiasts love the versatility of the Memory Brigade plug-in — it can add a transformative element to not just guitar tracks, but vocals and keyboards as well.

Truly personalized delay at your fingertips

Straight away, the array of foundational controls atop the Memory Brigade are a glorious sight to behold. Run your tracks through it, and instantly take control over linkable Left and Right Delay times of each channel for that perfect sonically bouncing rhythm. Echo Level gives you command over the dimensionality side of things, providing some incredible depth when you want it. And you can always throw in a little grit thanks to an Input Level and Feedback control duo.

Just below the top line of controls, the Sync feature allows you to effortlessly sync your delay to your chosen bpm and tempo. Try out Stereo Offset and Stereo Width, and fine-tune some incredibly slight variations in your delay’s repeat rate or widen the stereo field to emulate an ultra-wide, doubled pedal effect. Switch on Chorus or Vibrato for some supplied modulation that beautifully replicates the warble of the original Memory Man unit, and then intensify it to your liking.

Perfectly personalize your delay

But the creative freedom doesn’t stop there! Delay Mode offers three different operation modes, each with a vibe all their own. Go for a more natural effect with Left/Right, which processes each channel individually for a more traditional delay sound. Ping Pong mode allows one side to trigger the other for an exciting rapid response, while Mid/Side directs the effect more into the middle of the stereo field instead of panning. Blend it to perfection, and you’ve got yourself a truly personalized delay!

Expand with the EQ, Envelope Follower, and LFO modules

There’s much more to the Memory Brigade than just designing a delay effect. Get more specific and balance the wet signal of your delay with the included Input Equalizer, providing Peak Frequency and Gain threshold controls alongside a pair of Lowpass and Highpass filters. Once the levels are to your liking, use the Envelope Follower to unleash some unique rhythmical effects, complete with Sensitivity, Amount, and Attack/Release knobs. Then, the sync-able LFO module allows you to dial up the waveform Shape of your choosing, and additionally alter its Rate and Amount with ease. Both of these final modules feature destination drop-down menus to send your sounds anywhere on the Memory Brigade that you’d like for them to go.

Reviews

Sounds just like a Memory Man
Memory Man delay is my favorite pedal. I've owned three versions in my life. I used to own a vintage big box deluxe. I currently have a nano deluxe and a deluxe TT 1100. I thought I'd give this plug-in a try and I'm glad I did. After I installed it, I recorded a guitar track with no delay pedal. Then I tracked the same part with the nano and another with the TT. I was able to dial in the plug-in to sound just like the pedals. In a blind test, I couldn't tell which was which. The only difference was the nano sounded brighter, which they do compared to other versions. This tells me the plug-in is actually truer to the original sound than the nano. This plug-in is my go to delay for recording. I'm super glad I bought it.
The best alternative to actual Memory Men
Real Memory Men can cost a pretty penny these days, and you cant mix them inside your DAW unless you have enough i/o's. I finally decided just to go for it and get Memory Brigade. Now I can bring back tones I was getting as a teenager in the 1980's that I have been missing this whole time. The added digital controls are quite serviceable. The eq controls bring the tone up out of the mush. Being able to animate any of the knobs makes for some tripped out effects. I know there are a jillion delays on the market, but nobody ever sounded like the Memory Man.
