Create Massive Sounds With NI’s Flagship Wavetable Synth
NI’s flagship wavetable synth heads in a radical new direction with MASSIVE X, with more sounds and more delicious presets to stoke your analog and digital appetites. This software synthesizer is chock-full of powerful sound-shaping tools for exploring exciting new sonic frontiers. Effortlessly patch complex, even nonsensical, routings. Express your innermost artistic ideas with playable modulation. No matter what’s crawling around inside your head, MASSIVE X enables you to unleash your creativity like nothing else out there. MASSIVE X looks to be not just one of the best virtual synths on the market, but one of the best synths, hardware, or software, of its time.

Dual oscillator section is where it starts (but not where it ends)
MASSIVE X is built around a dual oscillator section with more than 170 wavetables (including tweaked versions of its predecessor’s best-loved shapes) with ten different operating modes. These modes — each with their own sub-modes — offer different playback styles with their own contextual controls. You get everything from a wavetable-bending mode, a hardsync mode, a formant mode, and our favorite here at Sweetwater, the ultra-aggressive Gorilla mode. Gorilla’s sub-modes, named King, Kang, and Kong, are guaranteed to blow your mind. Feed them wavetables, and you’ll experience fat, gnarly textures that will leave you in a near-traumatized state. What’s more, you can inject tension and movement into the main oscillators with a pair of phase-modulation oscillators and warp frequencies to your heart’s content with nine filter types.

Modulation and FX offer extended sound-warping capabilities
Native Instruments MASSIVE X includes a robust modulation system that eclipses even that of its predecessor. Three Performers provide you with the ability to paint intricate patterns of modulation and assign them to different parameters. This empowers you to craft everything from complex, evolving patches to subtle and controlled sonic changes. Four Tracker mod sources supply you with the capacity to map Pitch- and/or Velocity-based mods with impunity, while Voice Randomizer outputs a pseudo-random variation to each note for analog-like detuning or for completely restructuring the sound of a voice. You can also insert up to three effects anywhere within your signal chain, either in series or parallel, or use the slots to insert additional oscillators. To top it off, you can apply stereo FX to your output.
Easy drag-and-drop routing makes for easy sound creation
Routing within Native Instruments MASSIVE X is simple, enabling you to connect any output to any input with simple drag-and-drop gestures. This, of course, makes MASSIVE X ripe for experimentation. Bypass, feedback, and send audio any way you like. Then sit back and enjoy as your sonic concoction is revealed to the world — it’s sure to be a one-of-a-kind creation!
