Intuitive front-panel controls for live use
Equally at home for live applications, the MX400 supplies the FOH/live sound engineer intuitive front panel control with a backlit LCD screen for parameter displays. A 4-in, 4-out design, the MX400 series offer unprecedented connectivity through XLR balanced I/O (MX400XL), or TRS I/O (MX400). Both products also offer 4-channel surround algorithms, making them an extremely affordable offering to surround mixing facilities.

A welcome addition to our sound booth

The MX 400 is a great addition to any sound system. We were a bit disappointed, though, to find that the unit had dual stereo as the only option in which all 4 vocal inputs would work somewhat separately and effectively with our system. Our original intention and desire was (in our case), to have 4 separate monaural outputs, but the unit does not have that option. Had we known that beforehand, we would have looked for other units in your catalog that might have clearly provided that choice. The new and added dimension to the final product, however, is wonderful and quite versatile.

Lexicon Mx400xl

Beautiful reverbs with nice tail. That's why I chose the hardware over the software. You can definitely tell the difference if you listen to the tail of the reverbs, how it fades out. My only issue with the MX400XL is that lexicon has not compile a 64bit version of the AU plugin that can be use to edit this thing through a DAW. That's a set-back for me so I had to return it to Sweetwater because of that limitation. I use logic pro x, so I could not integrate this nice piece of gear into my workflow. If you are using a 32bit application or straight analog connectivity, I would definitely recommend this. Other effects that this unit provide, include delays, vibrato, chorus, pitch shift and more...All of these are great but the only effects on there I consider top of the line are the reverbs and the pitch shift. If you are buying this unit only for reverbs and some delays, I suggest the Lexicon MX400 4-in, 4-out Reverb Processor over the Mx400xl.
