Euphoric Class A Tones at Any Volume

By manipulating the Morgan Amps MPV23's simple controls, you can craft tones ranging from boutique cleans to liquid overdrive. Everything is interactive, thanks to this amp head's unique gain structure. Roll back your guitar's volume control for pristine clean tones. Switch pickups and discover exciting new textures. In fact, this amplifier is so expressive, you can completely transform your sound with a simple change of your pick attack. This handwired beauty straddles the euphoric sonic space between classic Bluesbreaker tones and those of custom-modded American amps. And thanks to Morgan Amps's ingenious Power Scaling control, you can experience these amazing tones at any volume.

Cabinet sold separately.

Classic tube combination serves up rapturous tones

The MPV23 is loaded with a pair of cathode-biased Class A, EL84 power tubes and a duo of 12AX7 preamp tubes. The result is a chimey, shimmering sound with mids that grow crunchy and aggressive when pushed. And when this amplifier really saturates, it creates lush upper harmonics with a delightfully loose low end. Best of all, you can utilize Morgan Amps's Power Scaling control to enjoy punchy cleans and amazing overdriven tones at any volume.

Your effects pedals will sound great thanks to Power Scaling control

The tone-chasers here at Sweetwater know that the key to getting a great tone from your overdrive and other pedals is to set your power amp level just right. You can do that and still keep the volume at a reasonable level, thanks to Morgan Amps's Power Scaling control. This brilliant feature adjusts the power amp section's volume without actually choking the signal that's sent to the power tubes. That means you get the interaction between your pedals and the power amp that you need for great tone at any volume.

Simple controls unleash a wide tonal range

You can tell that Morgan Amps products like the MPV23 are made for hard-gigging guitarists just by looking at them. The simple Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, and Volume controls conceal a surprisingly wide range of tones, but you'll never have to spend long turning numerous knobs to get the right sound. Designed for dramatic tone shifts, the MPV23's tone controls sound great — even at extreme settings. Indeed, you'll love how the MPV23's Mid control adds a bit of grit to your tone when you crank it!

Outstanding
This is the best thing I have ever owned in my life. Sounds amazing and I'm done with my search for the tones I was looking for. Takes pedals great and the power scaling works killer. Versatile and rock solid. You won't be disappointed. Well worth the money.
Love this amp!
This amp has so much flexibility. Coming from the world of an Orange lunchbox head, which I still love, I just couldn't get the clean sounds I was looking for. The variety of sounds I get from this amp are more than enough for my studio recordings With matching cab, this sounds great. I am no expert at describing tone - but this has tone for days! Takes all my pedals great. No effects loop like the orange I have, but I not convinced that effects loops are totally necessary. The variable power knob is great for keeping driven crunchy sounds at low volume. Perfect for home and studio. Richard Whittington, my sales engineer, did a great job keeping me up to date on the delivery and before I knew it I was playing through it and loving it! You cant go wrong with Sweetwater service and Joe Morgan amps!

Excellent for recording!
The Morgan MVP 23 is an awesome amp, I've used it for multiple applications gigging and recording. The tone is great and as previous reviewers have said, it does the Vox sound really well. What I love about it, is with the certain OD pedals this amp can growl and for me I have found that in my opinion the Keeley red dirt OD and this amp are meant for each other. My only complaint is in certain cases I've found that the low end is not quite there, obviously depending on what guitar I'm using, in my humble opinion some guitars don't pair well with this amp while others sound amazing. Thats with all amps and guitars. The power scaling feature works really well and it truly allows you to get quite volume levels while retaining that special tone guitar players love. As a recording tool this amp is great, I also have a Dr Z maz 18 and I use a radial bigshot AbY switcher with both amps. When I record, the DRZ and Morgan compliment each other as a stereo guitar rig, and I get some crazy sounds. The Morgan MVP 23 is another tool I use for my musical expression and its amazing.
MVP 23 for the Win
Tried to think of some useful critique of this amp to share, but failed. If this is an amp you are considering you won't be disappointed. Yes it's single channel and does not have an effects loop, but I think less is more with the MVP23. Found my happy place at mid power/mid drive settings and just adjust volume to suit the situation. This gives a fantastic clean to mild break up with guitar volume. Have a Rockett Archer Ikon as a boost/thickener and MP Little Green Wonder set for higher gain when needed and find myself wondering if I'll ever need anything else. (although sometimes swap the LGW for a Rat for something more snarly). Extensively read the online forums and reviews before buying and noticed several users noted that while it doesn't necessarily mimic a Fender, Vox or Marshall, it's strength is how well it balances these types of classic tones in a way that makes it super easy to dial up "that" tone in your head. Couldn't agree more. The name says it all, this is a true MVP!
