The MV7’s Next Evolution

More and more creators are using Shure podcast microphones. With quality offerings like the MV7+, it’s easy to see why. This hybrid podcasting microphone supplies the superb sound of the standard MV7 and updates it with new features, including a touch-sensitive LED strip, complete computer control, and compatibility with the Shure MOTIV Mix desktop app. Within the app, you can choose from more than 16 million LED colors and behaviors. Plus, the app includes new tools like the Digital Popper Stopper, a real-time Denoiser, and three reverb types. Shure mics are incredibly popular at Sweetwater; our MV7+ users report that the hybrid USB-C and XLR outputs allow this microphone to integrate into any setup. When it comes to outstanding sound and visual flexibility, the Shure MV7+ checks all the boxes.

Descended from the iconic podcast mic

As its name and physical styling indicate, the MV7+ takes sonic cues from the iconic Shure SM7B microphone. Considered the standard for podcasts and broadcasting, the SM7B has been used by the most famous musicians and personalities in history. For the MV7+, Shure distilled that sonic essence down into a more compact and wallet-friendly form factor. What’s more, you can use the Shure MOTIV Mix desktop app to toggle three unique EQs that tailor the sound to your preference. Whether you’re dishing out hot takes on the latest sports news, discussing true crime, or livestreaming, the Shure MV7+ does it all with the smooth sound your listeners know and expect.

Customizable LED strip

The most noticeable upgrade present on the MV7+ is its new touch-sensitive LED strip. It gives you immediate access to the gain and muting functions. And within the Shure MOTIV Mix desktop app, you get controls for customizing the LEDs. In total, there are 16.8 million colors to choose from. The Live Meter Mode automatically blends between three chosen colors to keep you updated on your levels. You can choose between pulsing and solid mode, too. Finally, the brightness is adjustable to fit any environment.

Control it all with the MOTIV Mix app

Your new MV7+ podcasting microphone includes free access to Shure’s MOTIV Mix desktop app. Install the application on your computer, and you get instant access to a host of sound-enhancing features. The app includes Level Mode to control the mic’s gain in real-time for a more consistent sound. There’s also a new Digital Popper Stopper feature, which digitally controls plosives without a physical pop filter. A Denoiser and three reverb algorithms are available, too. There’s a lot more to explore within the Shure MOTIV Mix app. We’re just scratching the surface.

Note: The Shure MOTIV Mix desktop app can only be used when the microphone is connected to a computer via the digital USB-C connection. It is not compatible with the analog XLR output. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions.

Reviews

Shure mic
This shure mic is absolutely amazing the sound quality is incredible thanks rayn for all your help
Cool Mic and works fantastic!
This is my second Shure vlogging Mic. I just got the new improved MV7+ model with the cool lights. Great Sound and easy to install. I would definitely recommend this mic, but be wary of the USB-C cable going into the back microphone. On my last Mic, the input somehow broke. Anyways, I didn't think twice about buying the MV7+ and I would buy another!
Don't Tell Anyone!
After all the smart advice from the good people at Sweetwater, and videos on YouTube that they recommended, I jumped in to make a purchase of the Shure MV7+. An upgrade from my aging Blue Yeti.

And what a huge advancement in the audio quality for my radio show: Lester the Nightfly. This has virtually all the quality of the industry standard Shure sm7b but with a built in audio boost and a USB connection. It is... simply perfect for what I do.

Don't tell anyone about what a deal this is... or they'll just discontinue it (LOL). Just too much goodness for such a low price!

A big leap forward for me for sure - thanks good people at Sweetwater for all the support!!!

Music background: Radio Host
Great product. I recommend
Great quality mic. Works seamlessly with motiv mix app and other apps. Like the ability to use it with phone, computer and audio interface. High quality built
A very solid quality mic, but not to be used without XLR interface
The MV7+ offers great audio quality, but the front-facing mute panel is a podcaster's NIGHTMARE. Thankfully, it is nullified if you use an XLR + interface, which is the only way to go. Otherwise you'll inadvertently mute yourself because the "touch-to-mute" feature doesn't have any tactile feedback. Unless you're watching your levels, you have no idea you're muted. If you want a USB mic, DO NOT get this one. For pro uses, XLR will make this a usable mic.
