Voltage Controlled Amplifiers deliver clean analog sound

Thanks to its use of Voltage Controlled Amplifiers (VCA), the Behringer MONITOR2USB monitor controller provides you with surprisingly clean analog sound, devoid of the pops and crackles that often occur with an audio-taper volume control. Also, its channels remain proportionately accurate to their input levels, and excellent channel separation is maintained because there is no audio signal present at the volume control. On top of that, you get reliable, ultra-precise and repeatable level settings.

More monitor options equals better mixes

Your mixes have to sound great everywhere - not just in your studio, but also in living rooms, cars, iPods, elevators - everywhere! The best way to ensure that your mixes translate is to audition them on multiple speaker systems. The Behringer MONITOR2USB monitor controller allows you to switch between up to two pairs of studio monitors, listen through vintage-style small monitors, or add a subwoofer - at the mere press of a button.

Enough I/O to hold your studio together

The Behringer MONITOR2USB monitor controller has enough I/O to handle just about anything you throw at it. In addition to its outputs for studio monitors, you also get a pair of balanced XLR jacks for connecting your mixer's output, and a second pair of XLR jacks (with a +4dBu/-10dBV switch) for connecting line-level devices, such as media players. On top of that, you can connect directly to your computer via USB to monitor your DAW, or play back other computer-based music files, such as backing tracks, mp3s, etc. On top of that, you also get two high-grade headphone amplifiers with separate volume controls!

Behringer MONITOR2USB Monitor Controller Features:
  • Large volume knob with true VCA control for extremely precise level adjustments
  • Built-in stereo USB audio interface, perfect for computer-based studios
  • 3 independent monitor outputs to connect up to 3 sets of studio monitors
  • 2 stereo inputs plus additional monitor mix input for your DAW
  • 2 high-grade headphone amplifiers with separate volume controls
  • Panorama control emulates the stereo speaker panorama when listening through your headphones
  • Convenient mono and dim functions right at your fingertips
Step up your studio's monitoring capabilities with the Behringer MONITOR2USB monitor controller!

Perfectly affordable solution
Very affordable solution for monitor selection and sourcing. Love the simplicity and the rugged design. Volume control knob is great.

Nice Features, Nice Price
This monitor2usb from Behringer replaces a Behringer Studio XL, which replaced a Mackie Big Knob Studio+, all of which were centerpieces on my mixing desk and got used a lot every day. The Big Knob will tend to get a scratchy sound in the main pot, which is fairly normal, but VERY difficult if possible at all to treat, because of its passive design.

The Behringer Studio XL also gets scratchy, and has a pre-amped pot, so it just takes a drop of Progold Lube (or similar) and the issue disappears, BUT the actual knob itself might break (the plastic physically breaks), and Behringer support is ... well ... what you get at these prices. It's sometimes easier to pay this surprisingly low price for something like this monitor2usb.

The price is very aggressive, and this device can replace many of the features of either "big knob" devices. It seems to be invisible, color-wise, to your music. The knob feels good. I'm back in business for peanuts. Thanks Behringer!

It's worth noting on this unit these are NOT multi-purpose in/out sockets on the back - they are just XLR. Everything is designed for balanced cables. You may need to replace cables if you're replacing another unit as this unit doesn't accommodate 1/4" cables at all. Also note the third speaker output is a single jack, intended for a subwoofer, but can also be sent to an Avantone or other full range mono speaker. Just what you needed! Nice product.

Behringer Monitor2USB
Here is a review on the Behringer Monitor2USB audio interface. I have tried several audio interfaces for my mobile DJ setup. I tried the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen, the Creative Sound X-5, and the Fosi X5. The Behringer Monitor2USB is the best sounding hands-down. The straight true sound of the Behringer is cleaner, and more natural than the Focusrite, more powerful, punchy bass and dynamic than the Fosi, and just better than the Creative. I currently use the Behringer as a sound card. From my computer through USB, whcih is so much better than the sound card in my laptop, then to my mixer. The clarity is fantastic. The Behringer is also one of the few audio intefaces that allows you to use balanced XLR in the outputs which ensures a noise free connection and eliminates the need for adpatoers. The large volume knob is such a bonus in ease of use but also helps with the strength of the input signal to the mixer for better sound overall and the most headroom possible.

Very happy with my Behringer MONITOR2USB speaker and headphone controller!
I just installed the Behringer MONITOR2USB as an addition to my long time existing monitor system. The it works and sounds great!

I have over 30 years experience with sound recording studios overall, and several years experience with the latest Genelec, Amphion, and many other recent monitors, amps, high-end headphones and the like—all set up for mixing and mastering audio, including jazz, rock and classical music.

I'm kind of fussy about what I listen to music with, and would not tolerate any gear that noticeable degrades the sound signal path. So after using a wonderful Neve 5088 console for over a decade now, including to to switch between signal sources and on to near state-of-the-art monitor amps, speakers and headphones... I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity that the Behringer MONITOR2USB brought to a second mix and mastering room I use.

In a word, it sounds very neutral to my ears. Can't beat that, or its low price. Thanks Sweetwater!

Love It!
Great piece of gear for my home studio! Feels very solidly built. You could probably pay $1000.00 more if you want to get a 1% or 2% benefit in sound quality, but there is nothing here not to like. Clean and clear sound, with no noise whatsoever at normal volume settings. If you turn it almost all the way up, you will start to hear a tiny bit of hiss, but that would be at 10 times the volume my ears could stand. My monitor system consists of a pair of Mackie HR28's and Audio Technica 50mx headphones, both processed differently with Sonarworks Ref ID. Using the MONITOR2, I can switch between the Mackies, and an AIWA home stereo system, which is connected to 2 sets of speakers, using a simple passive switching panel I got on Amazon. When I switch to the stereo system, I disable the Sonarworks, to get the unprocessed sound, to get a feel for translation to consumer sound. I use "ADPTR AB" plugin to hear reference tracks in my DAW, and I listen to my mixes and the reference mixes in all situations when I am finalizing my work... The headphone crossfeed function is pure genius, built right in, and works as well as the "Can Opener" plugin, and maybe better. I also love the fact that you can input USB or analog, or both. The front panel big knob feels very solid, and is detented. Love it! So well thought out. Behringer has always come up with products that I have thought up in my mind, and wondered why no one was making such a thing. Years ago, I stopped buying their products, due to poor sound quality and/or poor build quality. But I found that some of their products were quite excellent, and dependable,,,, and right about the time they bought out Midas, it seemed like the quality went way up. Hope this helps.
