Best in the game
Quiet, clean,sturdy, and eye-catching. This thing doesn't squeak or squawk like other cheaper stands. The system for cable management is very nice. And it's definitely the flashiest looking mic boom on this site. The chrome "G" and on-air indicator light?? So sweet. The light can be red,blue, or purple with brightness adjustments.The "gator frameworks" script on the arm is lack-luster, would've preferred simply "gator" in the same chrome as the "G" but oh well. The extension rod is necessary for the SM7b. And it even includes additional mounting hardware for thru-tabletop options. It's worth the price for sure. It performs quietly and looks a step above the rest, especially for on-camera applications.

Home Office/Studio - Great Boom
I bought this over the model one step down for the extension rod and most importantly.. The Light! Since working from home, interuptions are constant. Now, I flip on the light when I am in a meeting and my family knows if it is on, I need them to be silent.

For recording, I am able to use this arm and little tripod stand to record vocals with pristine clarity and my acoustic in one take. LOVE IT!

Excellent solution - easy installation and no more droopy boom arm...
Does everything it should do. I like the grooved tracks for hiding the cables from view without having to thread them inside the arm - an elegant and simple solution. Box contains an assortment of mounting hardware, cable clips, etc. for a straightforward installation and an excellent finished look. The tension is perfect; easy enough to adjust the boom in any direction, up and down, etc. but once adjusted it stays in exactly the same position - no boom sag at all, even with an sm7B, which is somewhat hefty. The "On Air" light isn't something I use because I'm the only one recording (solo voice over) but I suppose in a podcast or similar situation, especially when the users aren't simultaneously doing the engineering work, it could be helpful. Highly recommended.
