Delivers Huge Marshall Tone

The MG30GFX is loaded with pure Marshall tone. You get your choice of Clean, Crunch, OD1, and OD2 channels that you can shape with a 3-band EQ. You also get integrated reverb, delay, and other digital effects. Best of all, each channel's settings are storable and recallable. There's enough power on tap for rehearsal or studio, and the MG30GFX's revolutionary solid-state design convincingly emulates a tube amp's tone and response. Beyond that, the MG30GFX supplies you with a line input for music players and emulated headphone and line outputs. Part of Marshall's MG Gold series, the MG30GFX is a great-sounding, feature-packed combo amp.

From the music store to stages everywhere

Jim Marshall didn't start out building great amps. In fact, his entry into the amp world came about in part because the drummers that visited his music shop for equipment and lessons often brought along their guitar players. Conversations about their amplification needs led to the birth of a line of amps that would eventually change the sound of music. From those first humble creations to Pete Townshend's first monster full stacks; from the mid-'60s combos to Hendrix to backlines of multiple Marshall rigs, there's a reason why so many guitarists (including quite a few here at Sweetwater) swear by Marshall amps. Try one out and see for yourself!

Marshall MG30GFX Features:

  • 30-watts offers enough power for rehearsal and studio
  • Custom 10" speaker provides classic British tone
  • Clean, Crunch, OD1, and OD2 channels give you plenty of sonic textures

Reviews

Neat Lil Marshall
I really love my MG30FX it fits perfectly in the small corner I put it in. It has the authentic Marshall tone it might have a tiny 10 inch Celestion speaker in it I don't know but it has the authentic Marshall tone no power but the tone is on point. It has some built in efx I haven't played with them yet but ll get to that. The price was amazing the shipping was fast I'm very happy with my purchase.
Marshall MG30FX
Thanks, Marshall and Sweetwater!

Now, if you're like me, you'll want to know why also in contrast to the negative reviews not just "wow it's great man".

Five stars for the price, but that comes with some doin' the main thang being the aux input volume. You have to adjust it yourself. It doesn't do it for you.

Fit and finish is just as pretty as in the company photos and the connections were awesome-perfectly smooth gliding

Also to turn off the reverb and the chorus after turning the amp on or switching between voicing requires the user to turn the knob up enough to initialize the effect or reverb and then turn it back down to turn it off, though it does so reliably.

Aside from that:

The buzz is supposed to be there in OD2 (there is no buzz in clean the voicing). It's an emulated tube amp not just a high gain solid state amp. Know the difference before you buy one because they do a good job. They don't deserve to be reprimanded for it and in my opinion, they do the best job of what people like me are looking for-experienced users with Marshall, solid state amps.

All solid state amplifiers have a problem with low volume on clean tone when you use that straight only learn how to use all the settings on your guitar regarding the pick ups and don't be afraid to use gain on a clean voicing it warms and brightens it up for that glassy effect so many of us love. Learn how to use the chorus in the reverb on your amp and in that regard

3. If it sounds "tinny" play around with the delay and the reverb. I personally like reverb to solve that problem and

4. Finally the bass booms just right when you adjust the input volume on your aux input device mine right now is an iPhone SE 3 however, bare in mind there's an icon for an iPad on there. I'd be willing to bet MP3 format is the most compatible format to use with this hardware.

Furthermore, if that's really an issue, who are you and what are you doing shopping in the same amplifier section I am? It's $. Cut them some slack and try and make it work before you decide that it sounds absolutely awful to you. If it's harsh back off the gain, learn how to use your tone knob on your guitar for the tininess and the gain for harshness. Also equalization, how close you sit, and where you have an amp in the room; although this amp doesn't really have those idiosyncratic problems as much I usually keep my treble, bass, and mid at 12 o'clock and I play really extreme tones and it's not something I'd go to sleep to and it is what I'm looking for but it's not overly harsh. Like with everything else with this amp. If I try to make it work it works great if I try to break it sure. You get me? Quite honestly, though you could probably set this thing on fire and roll it down a hill and it would still be in a lot better shape than any other amp in this freaking class. And yes, I crank the treble only sometimes or the mid only or all three it just depends on what sounds best and no it doesn't fluctuate it just depends on the song and the room I'm in. I don't have a youtube or vimeo account yet but working on it to get these up and why not get myself out there now that I hava functional amp.

I think that about covers it. oh yeah:

Thank you so very much, Marshall. Thank you so very much, Sweetwater. I love you all!

LOVE THIS!!
Been looking at this 30 watt Marshall for a while now. This combo allows me to plug n play. No pedals needed but, if you want pedals, this amp is also a great pedal platform on the clean channel. Going back and forth between my acoustic or electric guitars and ukulele. The clean channel has so much chime coupled with the onboard Reverb gives me such great clean tone. The Crunch, OD-1/OD-2 channels are just as great, each does vary in Compression. Not too much into Modulation Effects but, I love a little bit of Chorus when I play on the Clean channel.
A huge Thank You to AJ Becerra for always making it happen. AJ has been with us for almost 13 years and he is like Ohana to us!
5 Stars for the Marshall MG30FX and 5 Stars for the Service that AJ Becerra and Sweetwater provides us.
Aloha!!
Surprisingly loud
I bought this Amp because you can't really haul around a half stack. I went with Marshall because my Marshall DSL 100 watt Half Stack didn't disappoint! Now this being a solid-state Amp I was a bit leary, BUT! I was surprised of the tones I could dial in.
I also bought the optional 4 button footswitch which made it nice. I definitely would recommend this Amp.

There are countless "British"-style guitar amplifiers out there, but take it from the lifelong guitarists and tone connoisseurs at Sweetwater, when it comes to Marshall tone, there's nothing like the real thing. We've played them all, from vintage JTM45s and the ultra-cool Plexi reissue to modern handmade masterpieces such as the JVM410. There isn't a model among them we can't recommend with total confidence, and that includes their more affordable models too, like MG, DSL, and Code series amps. Thanks to our tight relationship with Marshall, Sweetwater's always on the cutting edge of their latest designs, custom models, and limited-edition gems. If you want iconic tone from across the pond, you want Marshall, and your Sweetwater Sales Engineer will help you find the perfect one.
