D-PRE discrete Class-A mic preamps deliver clean and natural sound

Nobody wants to hear mics that are plugged into thin, distorted, or underpowered preamps. MG Series mixing consoles employ Yamaha's transparent D-PRE preamps, which provide more power with lower impedance, delivering natural-sounding bass and smooth highs. D-PREs simply sound good - without hyping any specific elements of your mix. The D-PRE's pure sound will ensure that you won't need to spend hours EQ-ing just to get a barely-acceptable sound, like you would with low-quality mic preamps.

One-knob compressors provide easy-to-use dynamics control

When you're in the midst of a live event, you don't have time to tweak a large number of complex outboard units. To resolve this issue, the Yamaha MG Series of analog mixers features simple, time-saving one-knob compressors. Simply twist a single rotary control and you can dial in livelier guitars, punchier basses, tighter drums, and well-defined vocals.

EQ and highpass filter allow for effective sound-shaping

Whether you're tweaking your sound to perfection or whether you're removing some unwanted frequencies, effective and powerful EQ is necessary for building a successful mix. Featuring equalizers on all mono channels, the Yamaha MG Series mixing consoles provide you with ample control over the tonal balance of your mix. Additionally, a highpass filter allows you to get rid of any mud that might be present in your mix by eliminating unwanted low-frequency noise.

Built-in SPX digital effects add polish and professionalism

In order to add that final glue and polish to your mix, the Yamaha MG Series mixing consoles provides you with a comprehensive suite of 24 editable digital effects. Based on Yamaha's acclaimed SPX digital multi-effect processor, the MG Series delivers high-quality reverb, delay, chorus, phaser, flanger, tremolo, and auto-wah, in addition to distortion, pitch effects, and more.

High quality op-amp ensures transparent sound reproduction

Here at Sweetwater, we know that few things will kill tone as quickly as sub-par op-amps. The Yamaha MG Series utilizes new, high-quality MG01 op-amps, ensuring that your mix sounds its best. When designing these op-amps, Yamaha focused on sound quality, rather than prioritizing electrical design and efficiency. Yamaha has always strived to deliver the purest possible signal instead of imparting their "signature" to your sound, and the MG Series is no exception. You can count on a transparent, natural, and articulate sound when you mix through a MG Series analog mixer.

Yamaha MG10XU Analog Mixer Features:
  • D-PRE mic preamps deliver clean, transparent, and natural sound
  • 3-band EQ on all mono channels for sound-shaping
  • 1-knob compressors provide straightforward dynamics control
  • Class-compliant USB 2.0 for recording and playback with computers and tablets
  • SPX effect processors provide you with a comprehensive suite of 24 effects

YAMAHA MG10XU

This mixer is so awesome. I matched it up with a L1 Bose Compact and it absolutely ROCKS! Randy Akins helped us put it together and his expertise was outstanding. SWEETWATER, your the ONLY place to shop

MG10XU is a "10" in my books.

1st, the mic preamps are very quiet. And you can use those inputs as line level as well. I plug my Shure Beta 58a dynamic mic into one jack, or input, and then my multitracker receives the MG10XU's output as a very nice, very clean signal. Continuing, I use the pad buttons on two of the preamps, allowing me to plug in my MOX6 keyboard's outs into channels 1 and 2 of the MG10XU mixer. This allows me to use single-knob compressing, a feature of this mixer. Hence the mixer adds compression to the keyboard's signal for more punch and clarity. The MOX6 keyboard's drum arpeggios are definitely enhanced, it you want more bang, more punch. And an added enjoyment is the smooth feel: the fine movement of the pots.

Very good!

Build is good, and sound is very nice. This unit is very quiet going into my Bose L1 compact. The reverb is quite good, actually. And no other mixer in this class has built in compression (channels 1 & 2). I don't see anything in this price bracket that competes with the feature set and quality here.

Small Footprint - Big Sound

This is the perfect mixer for solo/duo artists, and it can also function in the studio as a sub-mixer or an audio interface. I use mine often for Karaoke Night - throw up a couple mics and then run the output from my iPad to a line in on the MG and play karaoke videos on Youtube. The best part is because it's so small and light, I can use an accessory mic stand adapter and mount the mixer right next to me so I can make easy adjustments on the fly. Works great and the FX sound good! IMO, nothing beats real knobs and buttons at your fingertips.

Simply the Best. PERIOD.

Yamaha makes some incredible mixers and this new XU series is no exception. I bought this mixer for my live acoustic duo. We run this through my Bose L1 Compact system. We also run two acoustic guitars, two Shure Beta 87a mics, an electric bass, and a Uke through the mixer while plugging it into a house system. The mixer is SUPER QUIET and the effects are wonderful. We add a little reverb to the vocals, tweak the levels, and after about a 5 minute setup have a great performing mixer with fantastic sound. It sounds much better running through the Bose system than the Bose Tonematch. If you are old school like me, nothing beats analog controls. The features and price of this mixer makes it wonderful for live, home, or studio use. I hope this mixer has the competitors shaking in their boots, because it should. BUY THIS.....I promise you will not regret it!!
