D-PRE discrete Class-A mic preamps deliver clean and natural sound

Nobody wants to hear mics that are plugged into thin, distorted, or underpowered preamps. MG Series mixing consoles employ Yamaha's transparent D-PRE preamps, which provide more power with lower impedance, delivering natural-sounding bass and smooth highs. D-PREs simply sound good - without hyping any specific elements of your mix. The D-PRE's pure sound will ensure that you won't need to spend hours EQ-ing just to get a barely-acceptable sound, like you would with low-quality mic preamps.

EQ and highpass filter allow for effective sound-shaping

Whether you're tweaking your sound to perfection or whether you're removing some unwanted frequencies, effective and powerful EQ is necessary for building a successful mix. Featuring equalizers on all mono channels, the Yamaha MG Series mixing consoles provides you with ample control over the tonal balance of your mix. Additionally, a highpass filter allows you to get rid of any mud that might be present in your mix by eliminating unwanted low-frequency noise.

High quality op-amp ensures transparent sound reproduction

Here at Sweetwater, we know that few things will kill tone as quickly as sub-par op-amps. The Yamaha MG Series utilizes new, high-quality MG01 op-amps, ensuring that your mix sounds its best. When designing these op-amps, Yamaha focused on sound quality, rather than prioritizing electrical design and efficiency. Yamaha has always strived to deliver the purest possible signal instead of imparting their "signature" to your sound, and the MG Series is no exception. You can count on a transparent, natural, and articulate sound when you mix through a MG Series analog mixer.

Yamaha MG06 Analog Mixer Features:
  • D-PRE mic preamps deliver clean, transparent, and natural sound
  • 2-band EQ on all mono channels for sound-shaping
  • Pad switch on mono inputs for managing loud sources
  • Metal chassis for durability
Deliver a clean and professional-sounding mix with the Yamaha MG06 analog mixer!

Yamaha MG06 does the trick

I needed this for a complicated restaurant sound chain. After using a wireless transmitter and just dealing with batteries and pairing issues, I decided to run cable through the ceiling from the XLR for the wireless receiver and take XLR all the way to where I played. You need XLR for long cable runs without losing fidelity. The Yamaha MG06 has XLR outs and was the smallest and least expensive mixer for my needs. Both the harpist and I (classical guitar) can now plug our own gear into this and get a good, clean signal all the way to the other side of the building where the house amp is. Signal arrives to a small mixer in the back office before that amp, then routed to banquet, main room and patio channels.Solid build, small footprint. I also own the Yamaha MG06X in my rig - for another $ you get reverb or delay. Need the 'verb with the guitar's pickup, bone dry!

Solid Performance

I've been using two of these for over a year now as live keyboard mixers. Does exactly what I want, and no more. Two sets of stereo outs makes it easy to offer a simple feed to FOH if needed. No effects needed or wanted. Completely clear and transparent, no sound coloration. Wish it didn't use a wall wart for power, but that's the deal at this price point.

Love the gear

The YAMAHA MG06 is just what I was looking for. All I wanted was a small enough mixer so that I could plug in my guitar+pedals and a pair of headphones. This way I can play my guitar at anytime without disturbing anybody. This also helps me because I recently purchased a TC Electronic G System and now I can tweak and create some sounds without even making a sound (get it) LOL. Thank you Sweetwater and thank you Mr. Alan Carter for your continued support, help, and recommendations when it comes to music gear. So far I am VERY BERY pleased with my purchases.
