Excellent controller works perfect w/Serato dj & virtual dj:)

at first I was doubtful by the review that says it's a bad driver and everything else, and I read other reviews ariesgue. Control come, it is to be excellent, has the Jog Well torq adjustable for Scratch, functions ENGINE are basic but very useful, read my Hard drive without problem, the search for folder is good and not freezing, the complement to my 2 SC3900 for 4 desck. I only wish that were motorized jog well.

Excellent Controller!!

I have always been a massive Denon fan from the dual-CD player days and since I have switched to digital DJ'ing, I have owned a number of different controllers from both Denon and Pioneer. When I saw the MCX8000 announced at NAMM '16, I knew I just had to have one. Just a few short weeks after the announcement, I pre-ordered one from Sweetwater, and just a month or so later, I finally had one in my hands! As soon as I opened the box, I knew this was a _serious_ controller. You simply can't beat the layout and the build construction. It's totally Denon through and through. Out of the box, the controller supports both Denon's own software (Engine) and Serato DJ (1.9+). I have no prior experience with Engine, however I have years of experience with Serato, however it's not my first choice in software. I prefer Atomix' VirtualDJ, which isn't initially supported, however I have been personally working with the Atomix folks on getting the controller supported. (You should expect FULL VDJ support very, very soon!) I've used this controller under Serato for a number of events and it's been flawless and the sound quality is stunning. As noted, it's an amazing piece of gear and definitely competes with any Pioneer offering and MUCH less the cost of the SZ.

Engine 1.5 unstable and left behind

I purchased this controller back in April and since then the Engine software has been unstable and constantly crashes, the jog wheels have become unresponsive, and the screens freeze in stand-alone and while using Serato. Also a recent announcement as Denon moves forward with their new Prime line, that the MCX8000 will not be supported. It appears as though this is an ok serato controller, but with Denon's lack of support moving forward the stand-alone should not be considered when purchasing. Big time fail on Denon.
