Trust (and Record) What You Hear

The Drawmer MC2.1 Monitor Controller ensures that you record what you hear. Nothing more or less. This is the cornerstone of great recordings. The MC2.1 gives you the transparency of the highest-quality monitoring circuit and a set of invaluable mix-checking features. You get balanced outputs for three pairs of speakers, plus a dedicated mono/sub-woofer output. Individual L/R trims provide complete control over level matching, while timed relay protection on all speaker outputs prevent power up/down thumps. Two pair of headphone outs complete your monitoring package. Really hear what you've got - with the Drawmer MC2.1.

Drawmer MC2.1 Monitor Controller at a Glance:
  • Unerring monitoring accuracy
  • A true engineers tool
  • Why you need a monitor controller
Unerring monitoring accuracy

It's versatile, intuitive, and easy-to-use, but above all else, the Drawmer MC2.1 excels its unerring ability to faithfully reproduce what you've recorded. Monitoring accuracy - it may seem like a no-brainer, but it's surprising how many recordings are made using compromised monitoring setups. And the results are usually not pretty. If you're in the dark about what you're "committing to tape," you're nowhere. Far better to invest in two or three pairs of reference-grade monitor speakers (and perhaps one or two pairs of trustworthy headphones) and a serious monitor controller. Trust us, you'll make better-sounding recordings!

A true engineers tool

In typical Drawmer fashion, MC2.1 is built to be a true engineers tool. The active circuit was designed to faithfully reproduce the audio signal - while eliminating many of the problems that are caused by passive circuits. It also offers you a set of mix checking features that you won't find on most other controllers, such as individual left/right cuts, two seperate headphone amplifiers, and a talkback facility.

Why you need a monitor controller

You've spent weeks designing the ideal studio environment, plus a fortune on active speakers, dynamics processors, mics and preamps, and a whole roomfull of other gear. Don't blow it now! A monitor controller is central to every recording setup and perhaps the most important element of your entire signal chain - providing the reference that lets you achieve optimal mic placements, EQ. and mix balances. This is one thing that should always be absolutely guaranteed: that you can rely on the absolute accuracy of your monitor controller. With the Drawmer MC2.1, you can.

Drawmer MC2.1 Monitor Controller Features:
  • Ultra-low noise and transparent circuit design
  • Linear power supply with low hum toroidal transformer and internal voltage selector switch
  • Three balanced stereo speaker outputs, plus a dedicated mono speaker/sub-woofer output
  • All outputs with individual L/R trims under unit to provide complete control over level matching
  • Timed relay protection on all speaker outputs to prevent power up/down thumps.
  • Comprehensive mix checking facilities including L/R Cut, Phase Reverse, Mono, Dim, Mute
  • Parallelled custom quad pots on main and headphone level controls for easy channel matching
  • Four inputs: Neutrik XLR, Neutrik XLR/JACK COMBI, and shared aux phono/3.5mm jack
  • Two headphone amplifiers with individual level controls
  • Built in talkback mic with level control, mono output jack, and internal headphone routing
  • Rugged steel chasis and stylish brushed aluminium cover
  • Can be stacked and is rack mountable (via optional 2U mounting kit)

home studio must-have item

Disclaimer: music is just a hobby but its what I spend all my free time on... The Drawmer MC2.1 seemed like an expensive purchase for me at first but its value has proven itself many times over. I bought it because it had more features than its competitors and it can fit under my computer monitor. The MC 2.1 allows me to quickly check the left-only signal, right-only signal, mono signal, and most importantly the side-only signal. I can easily turn my subwoofer on or off as well. I have one headphone output dedicated to mixing headphones and the other for tracking headphones. I Totally recommend the MC2.1

Awesome sauce!!!

This monitor controller hits way above it's price point! It is built like a tank, and uses very high quality components. It adds absolutely no color to the sound. And, the 2 headphone amps are really great sounding. I needed a monitor controller quickly (as my older one crapped out), so I settled on the MC2.1 as it had features I wanted, and it was at a fair price point. Since receiving it, it has exceeded my expectations. You can't go wrong with any Drawmer product. Classic British audio quality!

At this price...CANT BE MATCHED!

Elegant design. Awesome built quality. Amazing capabilities. I'm using all I/O's - running two pair of monitors, one Avantone monitor, and a subwoofer.

0 Noise added, amazing tool for any studio

I was unsure based on my limited use of an item like this before how much I needed this.... it is amazing... the ability to chose between 3 monitors effortlessly, no pops, no clicks, and no crackleing knob makes this device amazing...after setting it all up I am super happy with the sound of my monitors, it added nothing to the tone but made everything just that much more functional that I couldn't be happier with my purchase

Amazing addition to my studio, great price

I"ve been eyeing monitor controllers from Crane Song, Grace and Dangerous for years now and have suffered through never having enough money and thus never having a powerful, flexible monitor controller for my studio. Heard great things about this one, did some research and decided it was time to stop living without a solid monitor controller. I have not been disappointed. This thing is a beast, much large than I imagined, and seems built like a tank. Sound fidelity is clear and sounds as close to passive as can be. Great tools like L/R cut, mono, XLR inputs/outputs and a dedicated sub compare to options and quality offered by my aforementioned dream units. After getting this baby I"ll probably never think about another monitor controller again. This gets the job done and then some, perfect for a modest studio on a budget. Has helped me getting better mixes already and I lived so long without it. My only complaint is the extra $100 for the rack mount kit. Would have been extra cool if they included it as an option with the whole package.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Mitch Gallagher

You've spent thousands of dollars putting together the best studio you can, picking out the optimum converters, treating your room, and selecting multiple sets of quality studio monitors. Don't risk it all with a sub-par monitor controller. Drawmer's MC2.1 gives you the confidence only a truly professional monitor controller can offer. The MC2.1 lets you connect up to three pairs of studio monitors and a variety of input sources, all routed through one of the most transparent switching systems we've ever heard. There's even a mono output for your subwoofer, and timed relay protection on the speaker outputs prevents dangerous thumps when you power up and down. Built with high-headroom active circuitry, the MC2.1 gives you the added benefit of front-panel trim controls that let you match the levels of your studio monitors, without coloring your sound. Individual left and right channel mutes let you focus in on critical stereo information, and with a couple buttons, you can check your stereo output by flipping the phase of one channel and summing to mono - a tried-and-true trick that can absolutely save your mix. On top of all of this, the Drawmer MC2.1 monitor controller provides you with a pair of extremely lucid headphone amplifiers, which are a real bonus when you're recording or collaborating in the control room, and a built-in talkback circuit makes communicating in multi-room setups a breeze.
