Big sound and powerful tone controls

The 12" speaker pumps out 100 watts of power, and if you need more you can hook up an extension cabinet for a total of 150 watts out of the MB150S-112. This isn't a wimpy little 150 watts - this is a surprisingly loud and defined sound. The active 4-band EQ lets you dial in the exact tone you are looking for quickly and easily. To further sculpt your perfect sound, Gallien-Krueger has included an adjustable contour and high boost contro and a low cut button. Dial in your tone and start playing.

Solid construction and durability

Gallien-Krueger has been long known for their great-sounding amps. The MicroBass series is one of the standards for high quality compact bass amps (and by compact we mean it only weighs 26 lbs.) The amp chassis is made from sturdy, welded aluminum that is durable enough for the roughest of tours. The MB150S-112 combo will give you years of faithful, tone-filled service.

Extremely functional

As a gigging musician you need to be flexible and have gear that is flexible, too. The Gallien-Krueger MB150S-112 is ready for pretty much anything. An effects loop lets you utilize your favorite pedals after the EQ section of the amp. An XLR direct out sends your signal out pre-EQ, and has a ground lift switch. A 1/4-inch line-out sends a line level signal post-EQ that can be used with a direct box or another power amp. The MicroBass also features a headphone out jack for silent practicing.

Gallien-Krueger MB150S-112 Combo Bass Amp Features:
  • 100 watts through 1 x 12" speaker
  • 4-band active EQ
  • XLR direct output
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Headphone output
No matter what your need is, the compact Gallien-Krueger MB150S-112 combo bass amp has you covered!

My "best friend" for over 30 years!

I recently bought a new MB150S "used" from Sweetwater, and I put used in quotes, because it was just immaculate in perfect new condition, and I saved a bundle as well! I have been using this little guy (or it's predecessors) for decades now, and I've taken them all over the world, from Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean and it's never let me down. I'm primarily an upright player, but I've played hundreds of shows on electric with it as well, and it has an amazing range of tonal possibilities. It works great with both active and passive electric basses, and most importantly, it handles my David Gage Realist transducer on my upright and Eminence EUB really well with no need for a preamp. It's a serious piece of gear that probably falls under the heading of "professional equipment". Be sure and order the GK shoulder bag for it! You'll be very glad you did.

MicroBass Kicks

Perfect, lightweight and incredibly solid. A tank. For the small gigs it's portable, lightweight, packs in the Mini very nicely and I'll be able to carry it around for as long as I'm playing. I was particularly looking for lightweight but high performance since I'm not as buff as I once was. This fits the bill. By itself, especially if on the floor in a corner where the sound coupling works best it delivers a very clean driving sound that I was looking for. Exceptional tone reproduction from my Fender Jazz. Warmth with volume. More than enough for almost any indoor arrangement. Then for outdoor, or when I have a bit more competition for musical space I set this baby on top of my 4 X 10 Marshal cab and literally it makes my chest vibrate. Still very clean and warm with body vibrations. Yup, I'm a happy man.

A lot of sound in this little amp.

I heard great things about this amp from some upright bass players and wondered how it would sound with my old Guild bass. Every time I play out I get people asking me about my amp. They can't believe all that sound is coming out of this amp. I just love the tone and sound I get. Plus, i don't need a roadie to carry it for me. It fits on the floor board of my old VW bug. But the sound I get is what I was looking for. I am very happy with it.
Music background: Started playing about 9 years ago. I now play Bass, Uke, Harmonica.

Great all-around amp

I use this amp in my high school's jazz band, with upright and electric. This thing puts out some great tones at all volume levels! It can definitely sing in a funk chart on electric, but will push out just enough to be heard from the upright's pickup on a laid-back Basie tune. Not quite loud enough for pep band, though.
