Reviews

GK MB 110 Bass Combo
Gallien Krueger makes top notch, professional level amplifiers. The cabinets are well constructed. The speakers are bright and clear. You get the full 100 watts and they are very powerful and always seem louder than their ratings. This amp will easily work at church or restaurant/ pub type gigs. Made in America, as well, not China!
Well worth the wait (since early December)! Now dumped my Fender amps for a 25, 100 and 200 watt GK.
Sweetwater customer service, great as usual (Janis Spundi)! Highly recommend both Sweetwater and Gallien- Krueger!
Music background: Bass Player(12 years) and Drummer(45 years), Professional.
Great practice Amp
For what it is it is perfect. Small easily hauled around. I use it for practice in the duo that I play with and it sounds great. You do need to put it 4-6 feet away from you for the sound to develop. I would never use it for a full band because anyone who has played bass knows that 100 watts on a bass isn't squat; you need at least 500. To GK, if you bring it out with a NEO speaker I would buy another one. No regrets on this one.
Music background: Semi Pro Bass & iPad Music Producer
Unbelievable!
I've been playing bass for decades, and have been using a Fender Rumble 100 for jazz band and small group practice the last few years, but never really liked the sound. I took the plunge and bought this thing and tried it out last night with a jazz ensemble of 20+ members. I never ran the gain past 12:00, and the director told me the volume in front was great - and more importantly - the sound was distinct and yet warm. I was worried about going from a 12 to 10 inch speaker, but I truly was impresssed. Plus, it's a bit lighter and smaller than the Fender - although obviously more expensive. It was worth it for me.
Music background: 50+ years playing, both as a professional and now a weekend warrior.
The GK MB110 is a Lightweight powerhouse!
I bought one of these amplifiers from Sweetwater a couple of years ago and have used in a variety of assignments. With a church choir, several community drama club musical productions, and an eighteen piece(yes!)Big band. The amplifier handled all of those requirements and garnered several compliments on its performance. I'm done hauling around overweight gear! Seriously!
Music background: 60 years of orchestral, swing, jazz, wedding and bar mitzvah gigs.
Great little amp!
Surprised at how strong and clear this amp is! Just 100W and 50RMS but really puts out. Accuracy with notes, not muddy or boomy. Thanks Jason for assisting and facilitating delivery.
