25 Years of Stage-ready Excellence — Reimagined in Bronze
Based on the award-winning M80 Dynamic platform, the Telefunken 25th Anniversary Edition M80 Dynamic sets a new standard of quality for handheld vocal mics. Delivering condenser-like sound along with dynamic convenience, this supercardioid vocal mic forgoes the midrange-heavy character of many popular handhelds, employing a low-mass capsule and ultra-thin membrane to capture every nuance of your performance with balanced tonality and stunning detail. Moreover, you’ll get great results anywhere you go courtesy of the microphone’s custom-wound impedance-matching transformer. The M80 stands as proof that you don’t need the hassle and expense of a condenser mic to capture high-quality sound onstage or in the studio. Available only at Sweetwater in limited quantities, the 25th Anniversary Edition M80 Dynamic microphone features an exclusive Bronze finish.

Specially designed capsule for a wide, balanced response
At Sweetwater, we’re all about performance — and value. Our workforce is plum with musicians and engineers who not only favor the Telefunken M80 for onstage use, but also for studio applications. Telefunken designed the M80’s head and capsule to reduce the proximity effect created by its supercardioid polar pattern. That means your vocals won’t get boomy or indistinct, yet you still get the optimal off-axis sound rejection and feedback-fighting characteristics of a highly directional microphone.
Clear, detailed sound is perfect for vocals or instruments
The diaphragm on the Telefunken M80 is super thin, which gives it a fast, uncolored response that captures your sound with incredible detail. Because it’s not a midrange-heavy mic like some dynamic mics, it’s not just for vocals. You can get great results with the M80 in front of a guitar amp, over a snare drum, or virtually any other instrument that needs a detailed, well-balanced microphone. Especially notable when it’s deployed on snare drum detail, the M80’s tight supercardioid polar pattern exhibits excellent off-axis sound rejection, so it won’t suck in tons of top kit (hi-hat and cymbals) when positioned judiciously.
Consistent performance no matter what you’re plugging into
Live performers know that it’s tough to get a consistent sound every night when you’re plugging into a different mixing board each time. Different microphone preamplifiers can operate at different impedance levels, and that affects the sound of your microphone. The Telefunken M80 sports an American-made, custom-wound transformer that automatically matches impedance, which means your vocal sound will be consistent no matter what you’re plugging into.
