Straylight
With more than 360 integrated sound sources and over 300 presets (all contained within a user-friendly preset browser), futuristic sound design has never been easier than with Straylight from Native Instruments. This granular-based virtual instrument enables you to effortlessly shape sci-fi textures, dystopian soundscapes, post-apocalyptic ambiences, and more for any film, game, series, or music project. The heart of Straylight consists of two modules, Granular and Sample, which work in tandem to give you customized sound sculpting and intelligent randomizing. Straylight's XY Matrix and Pad also morph existing sources into different sounds according to the settings you've selected for the XY parameters. Furthermore, convenient CC MIDI mapping allows you to add movement and depth to your sounds immediately, ensuring they align with your project's tempo for seamless musical implementation. Looking to use your own samples? Sweetwater sound designers particularly love the ability to drag-and-drop their own work into Straylight to create bespoke, one-of-a-kind sound designs. Finally, the ability to modulate up to 14 different effects from nine different categories means that you add the final touches to your tracks with an array of reverbs, delays, EQs, and overdrives at your disposal.

Pharlight
Sound designers, music producers, and artists seeking futuristic vocal sounds for their next project should keep Pharlight from Native Instruments at the top of their plug-in collection. Created in collaboration with 15 professional vocal artists and sound designers, this granular virtual instrument is based almost entirely around organic vocal sounds and effects from which you can create pads, pulses, unique tones, textured noises, atmospheres, and much more. Pharlight's two playback modules (Grain and Sample) let you choose from 319 sound sources and more than 350 professionally crafted Snapshots. Shape sounds to your content with the XY Pad, and incorporate real-time modulation, filters, and up to nine different kinds of effects. Pharlight is also tempo-synchable to your DAW's project, ensuring that each transition, sweep, or drop is perfectly timed with the rest of your production. Finally, if you use Komplete Kontrol keyboards (like many of us here at Sweetwater), then you'll love Pharlight's pre-mapped macro controls, which enable you to start composing with the most intuitive of controls as soon as you load the plug-in or standalone software.
Ashlight
The final iteration in Native Instruments' granular trilogy, the Ashlight virtual instrument plug-in explores the monochrome, the dark, and the cold. Channeling apocalyptic atmospheres, Ashlight is loaded with meticulously recorded samples, including bowed metals, carbon, glass, and more. Designed to expand your sonic horizons, Ashlight features a dual-layer engine composed of granular and sample-based synthesis, onboard effects, and full MPE controls for exploratory stage performances. From stunning, generative metal timbres to dark, rhythmic basses, keys, arps, and effects, Ashlight spans a realm of immersive tonal possibilities perfect for crafting cinematic scores, video game soundtracks, ambient soundscapes, and post-rock compositions. Just ask any Sweetwater producer — Ashlight is your guide through the aural abyss.
