Re-create the Most Sought-after Rotating Speaker System

Strymon's Lex rotary speaker simulating effects pedal gives you the enchanting sound of a rotating Leslie speaker in a pedalboard-friendly stomp box. The greatest benefit of the Lex is the quality of tone you'll enjoy without having to lug a rotary speaker cabinet with you. Two individually selectable speeds are footswitchable, and the extensive I/O, 4-knob interface, and deep-editing secondary features let you dial in the pedal's sound to perfectly fit your performance needs. The Strymon Lex Rotary effects pedal is a much more convenient way to get those iconic swirling sounds.

Rotary speaker simulation

Rotating Leslie speaker cabinets have been used for beautiful liquidy organ and electric guitar tones for decades. But the speaker cabinets' size and weight largely kept them from being used live very often. Strymon's Lex pedal gives you those same pulsing sounds without the hassle and back-breaking weight of an original rotary speaker system. The Lex offers two individual rotary speeds that can be selected with a tap of a footswitch. And a bi-amp output method allows you to send different frequencies to separate amps for an even more realistic experience.

Highly customizable

The faceplate of the Lex boasts controls for Fast Rotor Speed, Preamp Drive, Horn Level, and Mic Distance. These four controls converge to wonderfully approximate the sounds of a spinning Leslie. But under the hood is a wide range of secondary features to customize every nuance of your tone. By accessing these options, you can define the cab direction, the slow rotor speed, the Lex's acceleration time, and more. And an expression pedal input lets you control these parameters in real time.

Strymon: a philosophy of quality

Strymon pedals are quickly becoming an industry standard in professional-quality effects. They're dedicated to offering exceptional customer service and, in their own words, making "gear that sounds better than anything you've ever heard." This California-based company uses only the highest-quality components and powerful processors in their pedals. And each design offers more tweakable parameters than meets the eye for fine-tuning your tone. This construction and sound quality is the reason Sweetwater is impressed with Strymon, and why you find their pedals on the pedalboards of professional musicians around the world.

Strymon Lex Rotary Effects Pedal Features:
  • Rotary speaker simulation pedal
  • Same sound as a Leslie cabinet with way less to carry
  • 2 individually selectable speeds
  • 4 controls to fine-tune the pedal's performance
  • Each control offers a secondary feature for further editing
  • Expression pedal input offers real-time control
  • Bi-amp outputs split high and low frequencies
The Strymon Lex Rotary pedal is great on your wallet, your back, and especially your ears.

The Good Kind of Swirly

This is such a thoughtful pedal. It really has everything I can imagine wanting out of a "Leslie" pedal for guitars. It takes some time to adjust things (especially with drive pedals), but I'm always looking forward the next chance to use it. I highly recommend this pedal!

Perfect Transaction

Once again, I called my rep Dave Walent with a "demand" and he is able to fulfill my request. I needed this pedal in less than 24 hours and sure enough... It's on my doorstep hours before expected giving me plenty of time to install it and tweak it to my needs prior to the first show of the weekend. Thanks Sweetwater!

hammond m3

i got a Hammond M3 awhile back and its a fun organ. tonewheel and drawbars and great tube sound coming from the speaker. runs like a champ and only set me back a few bucks. it doesn't have leslie connections or even a line out so i was searching for a way to get THAT B3 rotary sound. when i began to record the organ i realized this pedal could be the answer. once i had some tracks recorded i then routed the recordings through this pedal (using a radial extc) and sent that back to my mixer. WOW! there it is! sounds like a b3 through a nice leslie! the controls allow you to vary the sound in really interesting ways and get some great distortions and crunch. and of course the rotor speed gives you those awesome swells that can make a huge impact in your song. highly recommended!

Ive had this for about four months now. My opinion has stayed the same. Its my most dynamic pedal. When you figure out the settings, you have the leslie sim, chorus, vibrato, and overdrive. Ive been wanting to get an expression pedal so i can switch seamlessly. My one gripe is the need to hold down the brake. The exp pedal will solve that. Thanks Alden!

Strymon Lex Sounds Great

This effects unit sounds about as close to a real Leslie speaker as I've heard. The various sounds that can be achieved by adjusting the various controls are just what I had hoped for.

Sweetwater Advice

Lex Rotary Speaker Simulator

Its ease of use and flat out killer tone put it in the upper echelon of rotary emulators. And after playing with the pedal on a single setting for over several hours, I had really forgotten that I was working with a pedal emulator - it just felt and sounded that real. It's a trick that Strymon has been pulling off with great success of late - no mean feat when it comes to the complex sounds of a rotary speaker....
