Get to know them!

Adorned with exclusive Sweetwater-only appointments, this Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s boasts attention-grabbing looks and a sugar-coated voice you won’t find anywhere else. This solidbody electric guitar is built around a resonant slab of mahogany and garnished with eye-catching AAA-figured maple — a top usually reserved for Custom Shop models. Sonically, this Les Paul churns out a gorgeous array of dulcet PAF-inspired tones, thanks to handwired electronics and a set of Sweetwater’s custom-designed Alnico IV–loaded Sugarbucker pickups. Moreover, you’ll revel in the classic playability of this guitar’s mahogany SlimTaper neck and bound, Plek-processed rosewood fingerboard. An ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, an aluminum stopbar tailpiece, and Grover tuning machines round out this Les Paul Standard’s hardware. You also get gold top hat knobs with silver reflectors and pointers, acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, a classic screened headstock inlay, and a spotlight-stealing gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Die-hard Les Paul aficionados in search of a rare, one-of-a-kind gem will find this Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s simply too good to pass up.

Spotlight-ready Custom Shop top

Even if you don’t believe in love at first sight, one glance at this Les Paul Standard’s flame top will immediately turn you into a hopeless romantic. Typically reserved for Custom Shop guitars, this Les Paul’s Sweetwater-spec’d AAA-figured maple top looks like a million bucks, elevating this guitar from a typical off-the-shelf Les Paul Standard ’60s to an absolute visual masterpiece with a look that rivals the high-end instruments found in the upper-level price bracket. Topped off with gold top hat knobs with silver reflectors and pointers, acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, a classic screened headstock inlay, and a light-catching gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this Les Paul Standard ’60s is an instrument that you’ll be proud to own and eager to show off.

Sweetwater-exclusive Sugarbucker pickups

This Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s is equipped with a set of Sweetwater Exclusive Sugarbucker pickups. Designed in collaboration with Gibson’s resident pickup-winding wizard, Jared Brandon, Sugarbuckers forgo pure period-correct specs to offer modern players and vintage die-hards a sweeter spin on the classic PAF formula. Loaded with Alnico IV magnets and boasting wax-potted construction, these humbuckers combine legendary PAF clarity with modern, microphonic-free performance. They also feature a very slightly underwound construction, which accentuates the naturally lower-output voice of Alnico IV. It all comes together to form what we’re proud to call our perfect PAF-style humbucker — and you can only get them at Sweetwater!

Comfortable SlimTaper neck and Plek’d frets

Comfort and playability were Gibson’s primary concerns when designing this Les Paul Standard ’60s. You’ll be delighted by how this guitar’s SlimTaper neck profile comfortably fits your hand in just the right way. For your playing pleasure, the rosewood fingerboard is buffed to silky smoothness and bound with rolled edges so that no fret ends impede your dexterity. The frets are dressed to perfection using a Plek Pro machine for optimized playability. Typically reserved for top-dollar custom guitars, this process levels the frets with pinpoint precision, providing you with the most playable fretboard you’re likely to own.

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!
