FET Condenser Mic Designed Especially for Kick Drums
Sweetwater studio engineers will tell you that kick drums can be persnickety beasts to record. Their tendency for low-frequency buildup, phase issues, and overbearing beater attack often leads to mix engineers working against their kick drum mics rather than with them. The aptly named Kick Mic from Lauten Mic effectively makes miking kick drums much easier, more musical, and more enjoyable all around. First, the new KC608 capsule's rear-ventilated chamber ensures that the Kick Mic's cardioid polar pattern remains uncompromised all the way down to 50Hz. This, coupled with the Kick Mic's in-bass drum design, means that you won't need to rely as much upon noise gates or other such corrective measures to capture a true representation of your drum. Secondly, the Kick Mic's Air Coupling Modes ensure that no low-frequency buildup occurs by deftly managing air turbulence and sound waves. This also enables the Kick Mic to maintain a punchy beater attack without the "tickiness" other kick drum mics can suffer from. Finally, an integrated HPF/LPF system enables you to shape the sound of each unique kick drum to your liking. Don't fight your kick drum; instead, let it breathe naturally with the Kick Mic from Lauten Audio.

New KC608 capsule and Air Coupling Modes
The heart of the Kick Mic is its KC608 capsule, which sports a 17mm diaphragm inside a 40mm element and boasts the aforementioned rear-ventilated chamber. The KC608 capsule enables the Kick Mic to maintain a true cardioid polar pattern even as low as 50Hz. Lauten Audio's Air Coupling Modes are then employed to reduce the potential general muddiness that can occur due to low-frequency buildup so that the natural sound of your kick drum is well-represented. And, with a >142dB SPL handling, you can record even the most lead-footed of drummers with ease.

Get it right at the source
With the Kick Mic's integrated filter system, you can sculpt a fantastic kick drum sound directly from the mic itself. A switchable highpass filter at 80Hz/140Hz and a switchable lowpass filter at 5kHz/12kHz give you flexible options for both studio and stage.
Thoughtful design
The Kick Mic utilizes both through-hole and surface-mount components for its internal circuitry. This approach afforded Lauten Audio the flexibility needed to select and implement the ideal components to achieve the impactful transient response and rich, musical details that this mic delivers.
Tough enough for any gig
The Kick Mic was designed to be used inside bass drums, and it works with seemingly any internal bass drum mounting system. That said, the Kick Mic functions perfectly when placed on a standard mic stand as well. Its 180-degree swivel mount also ensures flexible application in even the tightest of spaces. Simply put, Lauten Audio built this baby for the most grueling world tours and most demanding situations. Use it however you like; the Kick Mic will still perform up to snuff, gig after gig, session after session.
