Compact and Durable Amp Stand

K&M is known for engineering reliable, high-quality stands, and the 28130 Amp Stand follows in that same tradition. This lightweight, foldable stand is built for stability. With angled front legs and a low center of gravity, the 28130 Amp Stand can support amps weighing up to 77 lbs. Tilt is adjustable from 15 to 28 degrees, and the center tubing can be fitted with a boom arm to mic your amp without taking up extra space with an additional mic stand. Whether in the studio or on the stage, Sweetwater’s guitarists like to keep their amps off the ground — to make sure they’re safe and to eliminate annoying early reflections, and the K&M 28130 amp stamp accomplishes that feed with aplomb

Perfect In Every Way
I have a sizable collection of combo amps. I mostly play at home, sitting down and needed a stand to get the amp just off the ground, angled at my head and remove the bass resonance from the floor. It also had to be able to handle both open-back and closed-back amps of widely varying sizes. The K&M has fully adjustable height and tilt making it perfect for anything I see fit to put on it. It is also extremely well built & sturdy. Will probably outlive me, Lol. Highly recommended.

Thanks to Ben Eyink for his advice & assistance with this as well as all my gear requests. This guy really goes the extra mile to be sure that I have the right gear for my needs. Sweetwater is the best in the business!

Great compact amp stand that does the job
The K&M 28130 Folding Amp Stand does the job very well and doesn't take up a lot of room. It will hold 77lbs which was enough for my amp. I bought the K&M folding amp stand set, that comes with the K&M boom arm, and I added a boom arm extension, an On-Stage MSA9502 Posi-Lok 7 inch Mini Boom, so that the attached microphone, a Shure SM57 would reach the center of the amp's speaker. I did tie the handle of the on the top of the amp to the upright post on the the amp stand for a little extra support but it isn't really necessary to hold the amp in place. The most upright angle the stand can be set at is perfect for playing while sitting down. I haven't tried the angle adjustment, a threaded rear leg, in any other positions other than the most upright angle. The stand, with or without my few modifications, is easy to use and works well. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Best Portable Amp Stand
I had been using one of the very common, On-Stage amp stands for years. It worked well, did exactly what it was supposed to do, the only problem was portability. Absolutely no way to fold the thing up that allowed for efficient packing, it was just bulky and unwieldy.
The K&M is the complete opposite. It doesn't hold the amp as high as the On-Stage stand, but that isn't a problem to me. The K&M folds down smaller than a tripod microphone stand, and like most everything made in Germany, its built like a tank, over-engineered, over-built, and my only criticism, over priced. But, unless someone steals it, I don't expect to ever need to purchase another amp stand. The On-Stage stand is now assigned to home music room duty, holding up a Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12.

It's ok
I love K&M Mic stands so I was disappointed when I actually started using this stand. I don't think it tilts far enough back and then the mic boom arm is inflexible. You can really only get the mic to about 40% of your amp and not always where you WANT the mic. So I feel like the mic arm is basically useless. I would look at a different amp stand personally.
