Reviews

Best Vocal Mic Stands
I love the easy grip adjustment, and the fact that you can stack four of them means less clutter in storage. Very sturdy and dependable.
Very solid stand, and the one-handed clutch mechanism is a revelation
I currently own 10 of these, in use for 3-5 years. I do remote live sound work and have moved stacks of these many times, and they are all still in great shape. I use these stands most often for soloist mics at acapella shows, when/where a boom is not needed or helpful.

The round bases are heavy, and the main upright pole is sturdy and deeply threaded... the reviewers that have said these don't stay screwed in, are cheap, or break, must not be talking about the same stand. These are built very well, and very heavily. No problem putting a heavy mic like the Shure Beta 27 on it.

The stacking round-based version works well for up to about 5 stands. Heavy to transport, but for more normal uses, like rehearsals or fixed setups, I see no downside. Very compact to store, and with 10 of these in my rehearsal studio, that is a huge plus.

The star of the show is the one-handed clutch. Once you tell people how to use it, adjusting the height is a very natural motion, and happens much more quickly (with much less noise and fuss), than the typical rotary clutch two-handed stand. I've found using these stands makes shows and presentations go more smoothly... as long as you can spend literally five seconds ahead of time telling people how it works (as in 'hey, just give it a squeeze, and let go when you like where it is'). If someone walks up to one of these cold, they might not know what to do.

Note that with a round base and no boom, the typical use of this sort of stand is to hold a vocal mic in front of a standing performer. Given that, the adjustment range of 42"-70" is appropriate. Its minimum height might be a bit tall for some situations if your intent is to add a boom and use it with a seated performer, but IMO, using this with a boom, especially a long one, isn't the main or best use of a round-based stand, or of the one-handed clutch. A short boom and a light mic would be OK at short-ish heights, but anything other than that should probably be on a tripod.

In any case, I think the things are fabulous.

Great stand
I got my stand and was nervous to check it out because of the reviews that talked about it being loose in the base. Mine is solid as a rock. Absolutely no wiggle or looseness at all. Also works great on the stage area Where we are using it. It replaces a tripod stand that people were always tripping over. Very happy
Finally a great mic stand!
I have been doing sound and recording since I was fifteen. I am 71 now. I have experienced lots of crappy stuff. Mic stands that were built like for chickens. I opened the carton this morning and I was blown away. This is a GREAT mic stand. And it is not priced high. It is the same price for a piece of garbage. When I put my hands on it, it is like driving a very expensive car. It is made in Germany. You can see how nice it is.

Great Mic Stand
Light weight, easy to adjust the height, as close to a perfect mic stand as I've found.
