Great fit and finish

Stays in tune. Bought for my 2 year old. Its survived being thrown, stomped and used as a shovel. Still makes great sound after all that.

Great product

I love my new Ukelele. I am a beginner, and it has been a wonderful instrument to learn on. It is a nice big size and beautifully finished.

Best bang for your buck Ukelele out there!

This is a great no frills Uke. Has plenty of sound and good wide string spacing for heavy handed pluckers. I tried out six or seven Ukelele's and kept going back to this one in the shop. Most of the Uke's I tried were had more aesthetic appointments (prettier), but this plain jane just sounds great and that's what I really wanted. For the price, it blows away the competition and can hold it's own against some highwe prices concert Uke's. Took about a week for tuners to adjust but after that my strings stay tuned.

Lovely sounding

I was happily surprised by how lovely this uke sounds. I haven't spent much time playing one myself, but I have recorded a couple that weren't even close to as nice and they cost more. The typical unpleasant uke upper midrange (3-5kHz) is absent and the frets don't seem to impact the tone. The single notes sound remarkably like a violin played pizzicato. The intonation is quite good. I was worried that the lack of a compensated bridge was going to be an issue, but it doesn't seem to be. I suspect that a good portion of the tone is due to the strings. It took about 2-3 hours of playing for the instrument to settle and stay in tune, but it now seems to be pretty stable. The instrument seems well constructed and solid.

This is a real nice ukulele

OK, I'm new to this ukulele stuff but when I decided to give it a try I choose to pick a ukulele not on the low end of the scale and certainly not on the high end. When this Kala came to my house I was quite pleased with it's looks and sound. I'm sure I've made a good decision. This ukulele might deserve a five star rating but I certainly am not an expert so I feel I'm not qualified to rate it that high, hence the 4.0 rating. Now to find some time to practice.
