Reviews

Best Studio Headphones I've Ever Used
I had a pair of Shure headphones that broke and this was a fantastic replacement. They are super comfortable, lightweight and the long cable doesn't get in my way when I track on guitar. Exactly what I was hoping for and solved most of the problems of the cans I replaced. These may not be perfect for mixing but they are ideal for tracking. Strongly recommend this to anyone who records.

Great For 10+ Years And Counting
I'll start off by saying that these were my first pair of nice headphones. I got them back in 2008 or so. They've served me incredibly well over the last 10+ years. I don't quite understand the negative reviews. For the price, you get a great set of phones with a fairly flat response. As others have stated, the lows may be slightly emphasized due to the closed back design, but the highs and mids are enough to provide surgical precision.

I've cleaned many vocal tracks with these headphones and have been able to make many decisions regarding precision timing and EQ'ing that just wouldn't have been caught with monitors. I've referenced five albums worth of mixes and masters with these over the years. Everything I've done has had to pass the headphone test (gulp). The level of scrutiny these provide have been more than sufficient. They're also capable of handling high levels of volume. Only a few times have I ever pushed them, and one was an accidental synth bass overload. I was afraid I'd blown the driver, but alas, they were resilient. They've held up incredibly well.

They come with two cables, two sets of ear pads, a 1/8" to 1/4" screw-on adapter, and have the auto-off function for when they're not in use. For the price, they're a great product. They're also very enjoyable to listen to music and watch films with. I've always said that if my pair bite the dust, I'll get another pair without hesitation. Even with my new K712's on hand, I stand by that statement.

My favorite
Incredible sound, comfortable, and great quality.

Comes with spare cushions, two cables, and converter jack.

A solid option for an intermediate producer.
Excellent headphones
I use the headphones on my keyboard, organ, and laptop. The sound quality is excellent. A great improvement from the cheap phones that came with the devices. The only drawback to this is that when I want to practice playing and singing at the same time, I can barely hear myself sing because the closed-back muffs are so effective.
Music background: Classical piano and church organ
Great for ham radio, too!
I have used AKG headphones in the past, and always liked their sound. Very accurate, to my ears. I am using these headohones to monitor my ham radio receive, and my own transmit audio. They are extremely comfortable, have a nice, accurate sound, and the on/off feature is great. No feedback due to the closed back design. I have added a Modmic from Antlion, and really enjoy using the combo as a headset. Great alternative to the Heil products!
