Deluxe Stereo Chorus from the Deep

Walrus Audio’s Julia was an instant favorite of guitarists at Sweetwater, with its rich, cascading chorusing, vibrant vibrato, and unique lag function, which can send the effect into seasick, loping ambulation. Julianna offers up all of her little sister’s capabilities but shows off a handful of unique tricks. First and foremost, Julianna features stereo outputs, ideal for wet/dry/wet setups or for creating extra-wide effects in the studio. Next, Julianna treats you to a tap tempo for setting the rate of the effect and a tap division control to split the tempo into quarter notes, quarter-note triplets, or an eighth-note multiplier. Julianna’s expansive LFO controls take chorusing into unexplored chasms, including a random waveform setting; a secondary LFO speed, which you can ramp up or slow down to; and a drift function for gently accelerating and decelerating the LFO rate to make Julianna’s warbles even warblier! Finally, Julianna is equipped with an expression jack for controlling depth, rate, or both with an optional expression pedal. Featuring artwork from frequent Walrus Audio collaborator Adam Forster in surf green ink set against a deep lavender, not only does Julianna sound amazing, but she looks incredible floating on your pedalboard!

Walrus Audio pedals: built by sound tweakers for sound tweakers

The artists, musicians, and engineers at Walrus Audio take pleasure in chasing sounds that inspire, like the perfect breakup of an overdrive, a beautifully thick distortion, an endlessly sustaining reverb, and a self-oscillating delay. Simply put, these guys love to play with sound. They design stompboxes that re-create the sonic textures that they hear in their heads. Built by sound tweakers for sound tweakers, Walrus Audio's guitar pedals are as versatile as they are functional. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that Walrus Audio’s pedals are the perfect tools for guitarists who want to sculpt their own unique sounds.

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Not Your Father’s Chorus Vibrato
The Julianna is a very unique blendable chorus vibrato. With it's depth and D C V control, it offers many shades of the effect. At low speed it's more subtle, but by adding more drift, a lovely unstable wow and flutter is added. This is my favorite and one of its characteristics that makes it unique in my pedal chain. It can also be just a beautiful slow or fast chorus when dialed in correctly.

It's stereo in and out, has tap tempo, 3 selectable wave shapes and 3 subdivisions. It's quiet and blends well with the other pedals on my stereo pedalboard. If you are looking for something different and unique, then definitely give this pedal a try. Checkout the many YouTube video demos to hear it in action.

Great pedal!
I want to get one of each effect pedal. One chorus pedal, one distortion, one reverb pedal etc. Therefore, I have to make sure that they're good to the point I won't need another of the same effect. I gravitated towards this pedal because it was very popular amongst guitarists on YouTube, I first saw it in 60 Cycle Hum's video and the guy made it sound amazing. I gotta say it's a great pedal, even though it's the only chorus pedal I've ever owned, I've had experience using choruses, from amps and a cheap Digitech multi-effects pedal which was horrible. It definitely sounds beautiful, you can get your usual chorus sounds from it or you can get really weird with it like me.
Julianna in Stereo.... WHOA
I use it it on my synths and guitar. The hidden features like putting a modulation rate on the current modulation rate is such a fun experience when adding to my synths. Its perfect fort my production and it's also been my go to Choruses now. Great product!

Bassists Love it Too!
I have owned/used many a chorus pedals, from ART, Zoom, Boss, Digitech, TC Electronics, Way Huge, and LR Baggs (for bass the LR Baggs had been the best by far). I was looking into the MXR, which I have not used, but was waylaid by my worship leader who highly recommended the Julia. He is a very technical/critical evaluator of pedals so I went ahead and started to buy it, then I saw her sister Julianna. I am a sucker for expression pedal, so I ordered it. WOW, what a very musical pedal. There are a many options to tweak, but where as most chorus pedals kill the low end (LR Baggs does not), this pedal lets the low B ring through. I play exclusively fretless and this pedal lends itself to my desired sound/tone. Love this pedal! Oh, and it complements my Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra clean or distortion wonderfully. I get that this is not a cheap pedal, but man I do feel that it is worth it. And of course, a thank you to Nick Beach!

Great pedal that needs assistance
I run this pedal in mono and it's definitely not as lush as the videos online. However, if you run a reverb pedal right before it, it becomes one of the most lush pedals you've ever heard.

It's able to take the reverb signal and produce something truly magical. Unlike anything I've ever heard and I'll never take it off of my board for that reason. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it could be this lush on its own with the assistance. But again, it's PHENOMENAL with a little bit of reverb before it.
