This is my second Jungle Gig kit. I turned a 16" Pearl Export floor tom into a bass drum a few years ago. I recently used it to convert a 12 x 14 rack tom into a kick drum. I didn't need the I.S.S. mount for this project as the rack tom has the built in mount. I did use part of a tom mounting arm to make a taller riser. The Jungle Gig comes with a 4" riser. I was able to remove the roll pin from the short part of the mounting arm and use it as the riser to get the necessary height for the beater. Note to Pearl....Include a 6" riser with the kit to work with the smaller diameter drums.

This adaptor kit was perfect for my latest project. It works as advertised and the price was very reasonable compared to the many conversion kits I looked at. Thanks Sweetwater.

Works exactly as you would expect...no issues or surprises whatsoever.

This is the third one of these I've purchased to convert 16" floor toms to bass drums. One for me 2 for clients. This can easily convert a 16" tom to a bass drum. If you purchase the Pearl ISS rim mount there is no modifications needed on the drum. A standard tom mount can be permanently mounted on the shell instead of spending the money on the ISS mount and actually feels more stable and solid. This is an excellent kit if you know what you're getting into. If you need the ISS mount the cost doubles for the parts. You may not be thrilled with the sound using the standard tom batter head. I've ported the resonant heads on all of the ones I've modified, so the reso head is less critical, but I've replaced the batters on all 3 with 16" bass drum heads. Even with the permanent tom mount you can still use the drum as a floor tom. The bass batter sounds good with sticks and the port kills off some of the ring.
