Timeless Jazz Bass Design and Appointments!

First introduced in 1960, the Jazz Bass has withstood the test of time to become one of the most played and recorded instruments in musical history. The '60s Jazz bass is an affordable offering, in the tradition of Fender Classic Series instruments and features a collection of timeless design elements - off-set waist body, ultra-slim, fast-action neck and full-range Bi-Pole pickups.

Many of the period-correct details that made the original Jazz basses so cool are spot-on replicated in this classic vintage-vibe beauty - especially the original offset waist, ultra-slim neck, and pair of vintage-style Alnico magnet Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. Whether it's early '60s Motown, British invasion and American garage, or later '60s heavy rock and soul, this bass embodies a fantastic era in music.

Most Excellent Axe !

I love this bass ! It has the look, feel and sound of an early 60's J bass. Mine is black with tortoise shell pickguard...a very classy look. Fender really nails the vintage vibe with the reverse tuners, vintage style frets, 7.25" neck radius and threaded bridge saddles ...add the vintage Alnico pups for killer tone and you have one excellent axe ! I've been a working bassist for forty years have and used dozens of different basses (mostly Fenders)...this Classic 60's Jazz , right out of the box, has become my main, number one bass. It is THAT good. The build quality is top-notch and it is a good value...if lost or stolen I would replace it immediately. And there's Sweetwater customer service...second to none...thanks Mark Magdich !

For the money, this jazz bass offers excellent workmanship, playability, tone and that Fender "vibe" you just can't get with any other brand. An honest value and Sweetwater did a great job shopping me a flawless instrument.

This bass is worth the money!!

I am very pleased with my purchase of the 60's jazz bass. The playability and tone of this bass are almost as good as the American Standard. The fit ,finish, and tone are superb to the Mexican Standard jazz. If you are looking for a playable bass without dropping a ton of cash for the American then this is your bass. When I can afford it I am going to buy the sunburst version to use as a backup. Well worth the price tag.
