This harmonically rich, musically dynamic sound is further bolstered by top-shelf, 32-bit/96kHz conversion. You also get 12 super-transparent line outputs with selectable levels. Two squeaky-clean headphone outputs and AES digital I/O give you even more flexibility. The Ionic 16 also features an external power supply input for adding rock-solid redundancy to your setup. An LV1 system isn't complete without a stagebox, and the Ionic not only fulfills that criterion, but it also does so with top-level sound and state-of-the-art features. Loaded with Waves Signature Preamps
The Ionic 16 includes the first-ever I/O fully and officially manufactured by Waves: Waves Signature Preamps (WSP). These 16 microphone preamps boast pristine, top-tier sound quality reinforced by industry-leading 32-bit/96kHz conversion. These pres include two digitally selectable toggles for maximum sonic flexibility. The first toggle switches between the rich, premium sound of the WSP and a preamp bypass for a neutral sound with loads of headroom. The second toggle switches between a classic 2k ohm impedance and a modern 7k ohm impedance, enabling you to work with a variety of source material in multiple workflows and deploy mic splitting with minimal gain loss.

These outputs can deliver levels up to +24dBu with a flat frequency response, plus they can also be toggled to +18dBu for destinations requiring colder inputs. The Ionic 16's two headphone outputs yield clear, powerful sound, each with an individual volume knob for easy monitoring. Moreover, each headphone output can be set to monitor a different source. You also get stereo AES I/O with built-in sample rate conversion to ensure compatibility with any sample rates. An optional external power supply input, ideal for adding bulletproof redundancy to your system, rounds out the Ionic 16's top-level features.
