Expansive Harmonic Potential in a Miniscule Chassis

Like its full-fledged forebear, the TC Electronic Infinite Sample Sustainer Mini is an incredible tool for expanding your guitar’s harmonic limits — from six notes to an endless array of layered chords and sustained tones! Activating the Infinite Sample Sustainer causes the pedal to capture a snapshot of your guitar’s signal in momentary or latching settings — this acts as an ambient drone that you can play over, as well as indefinitely layer using the pedal’s infinite setting. With the Infinite Sample Sustainer Mini, you have a simplified control set with sustain level, fade-in, and release/decay to keep your eyes on the ball. Furthermore, this pedal offers TonePrint editing that allows you to tweak nearly every parameter of the Infinite Sample Sustainer’s controls in the TonePrint app.

TC Electronic Infinite Sample Sustainer Mini Pedal Features:

  • Creates a sample of your guitar’s signal that can be temporarily or infinitely sustained
  • Optional layering allows stacking of multiple samples
  • Latching and momentary footswitch control
  • Intuitive and easy-to-use sustain level, fade-in, and release/decay controls
  • TonePrint editor offers extended control over almost every parameter
  • Analog-dry-thru leaves your guitar signal uncolored

Reviews

Terrific value, build quality, and functionality
TC Electronics Infinite sample sustainer pedal offers immense versatility. I had been considering buying the Electro-Harmonix Freeze pedal for some time, but I am delighted now that I have bought this one. It has several advantages to a simple freeze pedal. However, you do need to use the TC Electronics Tone Print app to access the configuration you want. It took me no time to figure out how I wanted the pedal configured, which allowed me to use it as a practice tool, a compositional tool, and a performance pedal. Now I can adjust the attack and decay, plus set a volume level depending on how I want the pedal to perform.
The disadvantage of the mini peddles is that you must program the settings via the USB port provided using the free Tone Print software downloaded from their website. However, with pedal board real estate being what it is, the smaller footprint of the mini makes it attractive, as well as the smaller price tag. With the appropriate tone print configuration, you can have a smaller version of the bigger, more expensive pedal for a more attractive price.
I am delighted with this pedal's quality, ease of use, price, and utility. There are videos on the TC Electronics website that I found extremely helpful. I urge anyone considering this pedal or the full-sized version to check them out!
Sustained tone can't be set to mimic original
If you want a pedal that will sustain a note or chord without effects, look elsewhere. Even with the adjustments available in the TonePrint software, the sustained tone sounds heavily modulated (almost like a chorus effect). I tried using TonePrint to disable both the reverb and modulation settings, but even that didn't work. It only allowed me to make the sustained signal even more different from the original tone. I'm hoping they provide an update to the TonePrint presents that allows you to simply sustain the original tone (or something close to it).
