Dynamic positioning and ensemble harmony
The Hyperion series’ intuitive interface encourages you to quickly dive in and start creating with a multitude of stylistic and expression-focused controls. A favorite among composers here at Sweetwater is the Space tab, which provides dynamic instrument positioning that can mirror traditional ensemble seating, small chamber ensemble formats, and front-and-center soloist placement with ease. With separate positioning for each instrument, you can create dynamic lyrical and technical passages that navigate the span of the entire virtual string section, adding realistic dimension and nuance to your mix. Additionally, the Play Assist and Arpeggio tabs are on hand for creating moving melodies and flowing rhythmic foundations.
Precise articulation and natural expression
Clear articulation can make or break virtual instrumentation, and Soundiron’s Hyperion series is brimming with distinct articulation styles and natural, expressive tools to add emotional weight to your project. Drawn-out vibrato and non-vibrato sustains, precise staccato, impactful spiccato, and delicate pizzicato, and more are implemented through Easy-Lead, an algorithm that organically adds articulation and inflection based on how you play. Experiment with extended techniques such as tight Bartok pitz string snaps and articulate Col Legno bow taps. Crescendos and decrescendos with vibrato can be fine-tuned to suit your needs, so each one sounds distinct and blends seamlessly into your arrangement. What's more, expansive dynamics and timing controls help refine overall tone and compositional energy throughout.
