Classic Transparent Grit with Adaptive Circuitry
Based on the legendary transparent overdrive pedal, the Halcyon Gold Overdrive boasts Origin Effects' proprietary Adaptive circuitry, which sets it apart from the multitude of "Klones." This pedal is an incredibly expressive guitar effect, dynamically and interactively responding to your pick attack and volume changes. You also get a Dry level knob for extra tweakability, in addition to a Voice switch for added sonic flexibility. Built from premium components, the Halcyon Gold features an ultra-high input impedance and a high-quality buffered bypass, ensuring optimal tone regardless of whether the pedal is active or not. In summary, the Origin Effects Halcyon Gold Overdrive is a worthy re-creation of one of the most coveted stompboxes ever built, yielding the same diode-fueled, slightly mid-forward character but with capabilities that eclipse those of its predecessor.

Groundbreaking Adaptive circuitry
The guitarists here at Sweetwater find the Halcyon Gold Overdrive to be one of the most dynamic, interactive overdrive guitar effects pedals you'll ever play through. Thanks to Origin Effects' proprietary Adaptive circuitry, this pedal responds to every nuance of your playing. The Halcyon Gold Overdrive's Adapt switch enables its subtly mid-forward character to gradually fade at lower volumes, supplying you with classic transparent overdrive with your volume wide open but revealing the full spectrum of your clean tone as you roll back your volume knob.
Next-level tweakability
The Origin Effects Halcyon Gold Overdrive's Dry knob allows you to blend your dry signal with the overdriven signal. This not only gives you extra body and definition when you use the pedal to boost a low-gain amplifier, but it also lets you dial in the perfect sound when you approach high-gain territory. You'll find this feature useful when stacking the Halcyon Gold with other drive pedals, giving you access to a massive salmagundi of distorted textures. The Halcyon Gold also includes a 2-position Voice switch with KLN and MOD settings. KLN yields classic transparent drive, while MOD delivers a more mid-forward sound with extra compression. Does your guitar have thin-sounding single-coil pickups? You'll love what the MOD setting does to your tone.
