Awesome Little Practice Amp

I can't believe how good this little amp sounds! I was going to go with one of the modeling amps at a slightly lower price point, but they just did not have that organic tube tone. The HT1 does! I can play at low volume and still get the feel of my full sized rig. It also sounds killer plugged into a good 2x12 cabinet. It arrived well packaged and everything so far has worked perfectly. I am very happy with the build quality, tone, and portability. My sales guy Steven Chamoun was great to work with. I'll definitely be ordering more from Sweetwater in the future.

Yes, it's awesome if you have little space.

This is my first tube amp. I wanted something small and affordable. Sounds great clean. 1 watt is louder than you think. Built in distortion is great. Do you want to use a pedal?

Blackstar HT-1

This little critter kicks out some awesome tube tone from mild to full Saturated tube overdrive. Played through the HT-408 produces a stack like effect at low manageable volumes. perfect for just jamming without disturbing the Neighbor 1000 feet away. Great Job Blackstar and Sweetwater.

Worthwhile but NOT all tube

This is a decent Amp for the money. It sounds good with "Single Coil" and "Humbucker" pickups. I also like their version of a mid-shift tone control; their ISF. I know that I frequently play through the one that I own and it's worth adding this to your arsenal of sound; BUT,... it's not anywhere near having an All-Tube signal chain. There are layers of Opamps with the Tubes at the end of the road. Opamps are an incredible blessing to the audio world, if one uses the designs that are for musical purposes, which this Amp has and uses, BUT this is not an Organic Tube Amp; and I'm OK with this. It's important to note that the amazing Tones that you do get from this Amp are Analog; no "Modeling" Digital nonsense inside; which is a big selling point for me. Personally, I'm done with the Digital Amps; that's a choice that I've made. All being considered and said, this is still a great little Amp which sports a tremendous amount of oomph for the money. It's light, articulate, and affordable, and Blackstar brought the goods!

The Blackstar HT-1 is a great amp for the money. Perfect for practice or recording. It has a great range of tones that you can dial in from clean and crisp to thrashy distortion.
