Stereo Sound for Your Amp Modeling Rig!

The Mission Engineering Gemini 2 powered guitar cabinet makes gigging out with stereo amp modelers and effects a piece of cake. This birch cabinet features a pair of internal 110-watt Class D power amplifiers, each of which drive a 12" woofer and a coaxial 1" tweeter, providing you with extremely transparent full-range sound. A flexible EmPower EQ onboard gives you the option of choosing a more traditional sound with smoother highs. And it gets even cooler. In additional to its analog inputs, the Gemini 2 offers you high-speed USB and class 2 stereo Bluetooth inputs, so you can play backing tracks or tap into software modeling and effects.

Mission Engineering Gemini 2 Powered 2 x 12" Speaker Cabinet at a Glance:
  • Full range or guitar-amp range - it's your choice!
  • Ultra flexible analog and digital I/O including Bluetooth
  • Roadworthy birch cabinet you won't regret taking onstage
Full range or guitar-amp range - it's your choice!

Several of the guitarists at Sweetwater were among the first to ditch their traditional guitar amplifiers and make the switch to some sort of amp modeler and a PA system. Full range PAs are particularly great when you want to play along to backing tracks or use a wilder set of effects. But we found that the added highs can run a bit harsh when you're going after more organic guitar tones. That's why we love the Gemini 2's EmPower EQ control, which allows you to blend between a flat EQ curve or a more typical guitar cab's present mids and rolled off highs. Between its 12" driver and its 1" coaxial tweeter, the Mission Engineering Gemini 2 lets you dial in the exact tonal response you need.

Ultra flexible analog and digital I/O including Bluetooth

The Gemini 2 packs some mighty impressive I/O options. For starters, there's a pair of XLR combo jacks onboard for your stereo amp modeler or effects rig. Rotary effects, ping-pong delays, split clean/dirty amp rigs - you name it. If it's a 2-channel effect, then the Gemini 2 will make it come to life onstage. There's also a high-speed USB input and Class 2 stereo Bluetooth wireless onboard for playback from your computer or mobile device. And you can mix the digital and analog inputs together, making it super easy to play over backing tracks.

Roadworthy birch cabinet you won't regret taking onstage

As convenient as plastic PA speakers may be to schlep around, nothing packs the punch of a real wood cabinet, which is why we're sure you're going to love the solid sound of the Gemini 2's 3/4" void-free baltic birch cabinet. Covered in high-quality black Tolex and a basket-weave speaker cover, this Mission Engineering cabinet doesn't just sound right onstage, it looks like it belongs there, too. And if you're rocking an Eleven Rack or a rackmount version of the Kemper Modeling Amp, you can always stick it in a matching Gemini H 19 rack head (sold separately) and you'll have a matched set.

Mission Engineering Gemini 2 Powered 2 x 12" Speaker Cabinet Features:
  • The perfect powered cabinet for your stereo guitar amp modeling rig
  • 2 x 12" guitar cabinet with dual 110-watt Class D power amplifiers onboard
  • 1" coaxial high-frequency compression drivers provide full-range sound from 57Hz-20kHz
  • EmPower EQ control lets you blending between a flat or traditional guitar cab frequency response
  • XLR combo jacks provide analog input for your stereo or 2-channel amp modeler
  • High-speed USB connection provides input for up to 24-bit/192kHz digital signal
  • Class 2 stereo Bluetooth wireless connectivity lets you stream audio from your mobile devices

Love the Gemini 2

I am really digging the sound of this FRFR system. Both the mono and stereo modes sound awesome and the bluetooth is such a great addition, especially for practice! Its expensive but worth it. The only issue i have with it is the weight and handle placement but its a very minor flaw compared to everything else. Also order from sweetwater the customer service here is truly outstanding! I had an issue with my order and they really went out of their way to help me.

Mission Engineering Gemini 2

After trying out several FRFR speaker systems and power supplies, I am finally happy with what I am getting out of my Axe FX II. Everything sounded really good before, but now it sounds great. I have also ran my bass through the rig to see if it could handle it and it sounded great. Just turn the EmPOWER control all the way on and it gives a warm rich sound. I was unsure about getting the one with Bluetooth and now I use it all the time. Mission Engineering did a fantastic job with this product. Sweetwater went out of their way to make sure I was happy and taken care of. The only thing I need to do is add some casters to make moving it around easier. If you are in the market for this type of product it is definitely worth checking out.

Addendum to my previous review:

Addendum to my previous review:Also … I’d like to mention the question I had for Paul Shedden at Mission Engineering was concerning a ‘popping sound’ in the Gemini 2 at startup (using the Eleven Rack) ~~~ Even with the level on the Gemini 2 Bluetooth Cabinet set OFF, the popping occurs. I tried several electrical connections: plugging the power chord directly into the wall, into a Furman power distributor, and also surge protector. Volume off on the Eleven Rack, or setting for example, the TUNER on the Eleven Rack to avoid a rig input makes no difference. Paul took the time to explain that the G2 popping is actually NORMAL in the unit speakers because of the drivers being activated. This reassured me I’m not doing something wrong. Paul’s explanation made sense, because it is IMPORTANT how I noticed on powering the G2 Cabinet off after use … I first set the LEVEL behind the Cabinet to OFF, and THEN turn the back power switch OFF — there is NO popping! btw … I just ordered another Gemini 2 for stereo ambience!AND … my Gemini H can hold my two Eleven Racks :):)

I'm HAPPY with the Gemini 2 Cabinet!!

I've used my Eleven Rack since 2010 with output to a Cyber-Twin Amp with 2x12", and enjoyed the setup. As of the start of 2015, I knew I was ready for a Cabinet of some sort, expecting to discover a warmer, more 'true' live output sound for my Eleven Rack rigs. As soon as I started using the 2nd Preset JH Blues rig through my Gemini 2 ... OH YEAH !! ... I was instantly satisfied, sensing assurance that my pre-purchase research paid off (Brian vanDeKeer at Sweetwater also encouraged me in this direction for a Cabinet) . The detailed nuances of each auditioned rig seemed to 'come alive' in a refreshed manner. I also use the Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro with 2 Mission EP-11-S expression pedals (yes, I'm happy). I can tell the quality, thought and effort put into these Mission products. I chatted with Paul at MissionEngineering~~not only was he helpful with a question I had, but he remarked it took the company a good 2 years work preparing to release this Cabinet. I'm getting ANOTHER one for stereo outs. I'm looking forward to using the bluetooth capabilities in the unit as well for my other devices. GREAT PRODUCT :):)
