The right power for your gig

The separate pairs of 6V6 and 6L6 powertubes in the Goldfinger 54 Phi can be run individually or together for a wide range of power output possibilities. And a low power setting delivers even more power shaping options. By utilizing the tube pairings and the low power setting, the 54 Phi can be run at 66, 58, 33, 27, 19, and 9 watts. These options ensure you'll get the perfect blend of power tube saturation and headroom that you require for whatever type of gig you're on. This is one of the more flexible single-channel amps we've seen at Sweetwater.

Your tone is in this amp

With all of its sonic options, it would be very difficult to find a guitar tone that the Goldfinger 54 Phi doesn't offer. Aside from its standard set of EQ controls, this amp also has the option of switching in a BAX EQ that Bogner describes as a, "refined pure balanced vintage-style EQ." Two voicing switches expand your highs and lows. And you'll find two separate boosts onboard for getting a touch more mids, grit, and volume from the amp. A tube-buffered effects loop, spring reverb, and many more options add to the amp's sonic possibilites.

Footswitchable control

The Bogner Goldfinger 54 Phi's 4-button footswitch is a powerful tool for pulling out different tonal shades on the fly. The included switch gives you instant access to real spring reverb for adding ambience or aggressive washes of sound. You can easily engage the tube-buffered effects loop to hear all of your well-placed time-based effects. And a tap of the toe will bring in either the preamp Boost function for more harmonic content and grit, or the Solo Boost to add midrange punch.

This is an incredible amp

Wow. No, double wow. This amp is a tone machine! 6L6 or 6V6 or both! The reverb adds a hint of delay at higher settings and is very unique at all settings. The Bax switch is a bit of the future in tone selection. All of the features on this amp were thought ought to the max. I am so pleased to have this amp and the sounds that it can provide. I could say more but I am speechless. What a inspired amp> Bogner did good.

Sweetwater Advice

Bogner Goldfinger 54 Phi

There's a lot to love about the Goldfinger 54 Phi. Clean sounds are full of character and the two boosts offer great overdriven colors. And even though it's a single channel amp by design, the various EQ and boost options create enough tone possibilities to create option anxiety. The good news is that the Goldfinger 54 Phi sounds great at almost any setting. It's really one of the better sounding amps I've come across in recent years....
