G-Drive Is Solid

This is a solid drive that is quiet, reliable, and fast! My previous drive was an converted hard drive and they were convenient but they were not reliable always crashing and me having to take them to retreive the memory. What a nightmare!!! These drives might be on the heavy side (because I travel a lot with my studio rig) but I never worry about them losing data or disappearing. If you want to upgrade to a real drive I recommend the G-Drive USB 3TB & 4TB I have them both.

G-Drive 4TB

My hard drive works sweet! It is so nice to have a storage unit for all of the large files and sounds that the new software requires. I would recommend this to my friends if they needed large backup, storage, etc...

Solid Drive and great price point.

Great Drive for Fast Backups. I have 3 partitions and use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone my Internal MBA, external USB3 SSD (Samsung EVO in a StockPlop Case) and older Glyph USB2/Firewire PortaGig I still use for Archival Files and my iTunes library. The G-Technology drive works like a champ, is reasonably fast and quiet. So far so good. No problems so far and its hard to beat Sweetwater 2 year warranty. My only issue is that G-Technology used to be owned by Hitachi and now I believe its WD. Hitachi drives are generally regarded as the best with lowest failure rates. However WD is very close.Since I use a Macbook Air and 2nd screen I only have 2 USB3 ports so one port has a USB hub attached. I have had problems with all my external drives when doing Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner backups reliably when using a USB Hub (random disconnects).
