Graet Buss Comp

I used one of these on an 8000GB Broadcast console for years. It was excellent glue when mixing live music for broadcast. Mixed George Duke, Herbie Hancock and others thru that SSL and had the best time while doing so. This is a no brainer purchase if you finances allow.

Magic Little Box

This is a great little box. I love it on a drum bus! We have this at the studio I work at and it has a special sound to it that I have yet to find a plugin compressor to match on a submix bus.

Sweetwater Advice

Thomas Leahy

I often mix bands and artists from Nashville, and the SSL G-Comp delivers the sonic glue these professionals expect. I love the way the highpass filter lets me tighten up rock, hip-hop, and pop drums while retaining their original character. On softer music, I like to use a low ratio, which adds a glaze that’s perfect for getting acoustic instruments and vocals to sit together in the mix. At 2-3dB of compression, I can use my G-Comp on almost any mix that comes through my studio.
