Make Your Synth Dreams Come True

Waves' Element 2.0 software synth generates the sound of the analog classics and serves it up fat, punchy, and dimensional. This polyphonic subtractive synthesizer gives you everything you need to craft killer patches: two main oscillators, noise and sub oscillators, oscillator sync, a voltage-controlled filter switchable between highpass and lowpass, four LFOs, and four ADSR envelopes. Waves also equipped Element 2.0 with an onboard effects engine, 4-band EQ, and a 16-step arpeggiator/sequencer. That's a lot of sound-design power, yet Element 2.0 is simple and intuitive to use. From searing leads and gargantuan basses to glorious celestial pads, Element 2.0 is the genie that will make your analog synth dreams come true.

Powerful, but lets you manage your CPU power

From our perspective at Sweetwater, virtual-analog synths have come a long way - courtesy of modern analog modeling technology. Back in the hardware realm, pristine oscillators were costly to design and manufacture, while cheaper, "dirty" ones found their way into the more affordable synthesizers of the day. That relationship is flipped around in today's digital universe: it takes more computing power to re-create the dirt. Enter Waves' Element 2.0: it's got the goods to deliver deliciously filthy sounds - while it helps you manage your CPU juice by letting you select your maximum number of voices.

Waves Element 2.0 Features:
  • 2 high-res main oscillators, plus noise and sub oscillators
  • Oscillator sync
  • Select your sonic flavor: Element 1 or Element 2
  • Voltage-controlled zero-delay feedback filter switchable between highpass and lowpass
  • 4 LFOs; 4 ADSR envelopes
  • Onboard effects engine with reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, and 2 crushers
  • 4-band EQ (100Hz, 600Hz, 1500Hz, 5kHz), plus fixed HP and LP filters
  • 16-step arpeggiator/sequencer:
    • Includes Re-trigger and Hold and modes you can use as modulation sources
  • Use standalone or as a plug-in
Waves Element 2.0: huge value on a killer virtual synth!

OLD SCHOOL...Yeah!

I come from the pre-digital old school analog world. Wish I never sold my old synths, clavinet, or Rhodes.
This plug-in rocks. Eats a lot of CPU power but I just built a new computer with LOTS of horsepower. This brings back memories of the old knob turning days. I especially like the sequencer and the waveforms are good and fat sounding. I have it running as a plug in for Abelton 10 and it's now my go to instrument for synths. Good job Waves!

Element 2.0 sounds better than ever

When Elements 1.0 came out, I remember there being some flack over its sound not being immensely high-quality compared with other synths. It was very good, but not earth-shattering. Well, I think that Waves has succeeded in taking care of that with version 2.0, because it sounds better than ever and holds its on with many higher-priced synths. That, plus the fact that it's an all-in-one interface (like version 1.0) and very easy to use and yet more than capable of building complex and powerful sounds. I'm glad to have it as part of my synth arsenal.

ELEMENT 2.Awesome!

I wasn't really expecting much out of this synth when i got it on sale for a cheap price. I looked through some youtube videos and thought it sounded pretty good and thought id try it. After spending lots of time with it i can honestly say its a quality VI. Very easy to use with some usable starting point presets. I have already dialed in many of my own patches. It does have those analog characteristics if your looking for them..Fat Saw waves and sine waves etc. It also has this punch button for some smack and snap to your patches that i like a lot. Overall I would say its one of my favorite Virtual synths right now. I mean ...i wrote a review about so ..yeah. Also if you like waves plug-in effects and there quality they didn't skimp with this virtual instrument and it shows. Really a good buy.

Since the early days of DAW software, Waves has been a dominating force in music and audio production. For those of us here at Sweetwater who've been recording since the industry switched over to computer-based studios, it's impossible to imagine sessions without L series Ultramaximizers, MaxxBass, and other staples. Since then, we've been impressed every time Waves has brought top producers such as Jack Joseph Puig and Chris Lord-Alge to Sweetwater to show off their next cutting-edge creations, and Waves is constantly adding new and innovative plug-ins to their catalog. And with cool new gear such as their SoundGrid series, Sweetwater engineers have discovered just how easy it is to use Waves plug-ins live.
