As it states, absolutely blown away. Many years ago in a galaxy far, far away I had the old echoplex tape and I'm not sure that it sounded as good as this and at this point there seems to be no frustrating problems, as you would encounter with the old tape machine. I am pleased with the product and would recommend to any guitar player that is looking for the unique sound or something different, you can't go wrong with the EP103 Echoplex. As far as the support I receive from my sales engineer, Marshall, well, outstanding is about as high as you can go. Always there, always makes sure that I'm ordering the correct products with what I have purchased in the past. This is why I keep coming back to Sweetwater time and time again, and will continue to do so.

echoplex stomp box.

Years ago I used a real meistro echoplex. The tape machine. This new stomp box does everything I could want it to do. I have been looking for this sound a long time. I give it a good thumbs up;

This is the one...

I spent years searching for a warm, vintage delay that captured the sounds I heard on classic rock albums of my youth, something that would only affect my signal chain when turned on. Something user friendly, something easy to dial in, something that didn't require a few hours of manual reading to even begin to look for the sound. And almost always it came up way short. Until now. This thing is easy to use, easy to dial in, and it has that sound and vibe Ive been looking for. If you, like me, have been searching, this is it. This is the mojo, and then some. Also, it bears noting because I was surprised by it when I opened the box, this thing came with a power supply. And all that said, Sweetwater service was amazing as always. I too used to be leery of buying anything like this online, but several pedals, amps and guitars later I can guarantee you that they never, ever disappoint. And my daughter loves the candy.

Awesome Pedal !!

Awesome pedal !! I have always wanted a Echoplex just too expensive however now you can have it at a affordable price and no worry about damaging or tweaking. This works and feels great and sounds like the vintage Echoplex !! Well worth the purchase for all the VH tone chasers like myself.

Great delay pedal - bad house.

I waited months for this. Got the tap tempo switch too. Aside from old records, I've never actually heard a real tape delay. I think it hit the mark, though. Easy to get great sounds out of this and I really wanted to keep it, but I had a bad whining sound at almost half of my playing volume. Switched guitars, cables, power supplies, outlets, amps and even houses. The house thing did the trick. I was bummed. The wife won't move for a pedal, unfortunately. She has a MXR Carbon Copy that sounds great and makes no noise. Thanks to Sweetwater's easy return policy, I'm going that route. Somebody will benefit from my misfortune and get their pedal sooner. I would do the wait and buy one again if I could be sure I wouldn't have that awful noise.

Sweetwater Advice

Dunlop EP103 Echoplex Delay

In purely sonic terms, it's hard to imagine getting much closer to a Maestro Echoplex EP-3 without employing prohibitively expensive processing power and a complex control set. The EP103 Echoplex Delay strikes a smart, elegant, and sensible balance between simplicity, affordability, and authenticity that can get you 90 percent of the way to EP-3 sounds without the attendant hassles....
