Fueled by FET-based technology
The Ego 76 contains FET-based (field-effect transistor) circuitry, the same technology behind the iconic hardware studio compressor that inspired it. This stompbox effectively captures the spirit of 1176-style compression, bringing the sound of countless hit records to your pedalboard. Armed with high-grade components, the Ego 76's studio-quality processing moves beyond mere dynamic compression to significantly enrich your guitar tone.
Powerful studio-style controls
With the Wampler Ego 76, you get a level of dynamics and tone shaping on par with a full-featured studio compressor. For starters, you get independent Attack and Release knobs for fine-tuning your compression envelope. The pedal's Level and Compress knobs enable you to dial in your preferred amount of dynamic control and make-up gain. Its Tone knob infuses your signal with the right amount of brightness to capture its hardware predecessor's vaunted energy. The guitarists here at Sweetwater get a lot of use out of the Ego 76's Blend knob, which provides easy access to parallel or New York-style compression.
