ESP's Eclipse body style blends classic looks with modern performance

Nothing screams hard rock like ESP's timeless Eclipse body style. The extra mass of this single-cutaway design gives the Eclipse EC-1000 truly epic sustain; whereas its slightly arched top provides you with comfortable hand positioning, no matter your picking style. Add to that a super-sharp cutaway, which gives you open access to the Eclipse EC-1000's upper frets, and you're ready to fly up and down the neck.

Get classic hard rock tones from this time-tested combo of Seymour Duncan pickups

ESP loaded up the Eclipse EC-1000 with a killer set of Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups. First there's the Eclipse EC-1000's neck pickup, a Seymour Duncan SH-2 model that gives you great articulation and bright tone, perfect for fast runs and rhythm playing. It's the perfect sonic complement to the Duncan SH-14 model pickup at the Eclipse EC-1000's bridge, whose much hotter output lets you hit your amp harder.

Long-term performance from a 5-piece maple/bubinga neck

Guitarists at Sweetwater understand that multi-piece necks are more rigid and less prone to twisting or warping over the years. The extra rigidity also helps enhance sustain, especially with the EC-1000's set-in neck. Even if you gig a lot, you can expect the ESP LTD EC-1000 to stand the test of time.

ESP LTD Eclipse EC-1000 Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Classic-looking electric guitar with exceptional sustain and aggressive tone
  • Thin "U" profile makes the 5-piece mahogany/bubinga neck play fast and smooth
  • Mahogany body topped with koa gives you rich, powerful tone and an elegant look
  • Dual Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups give you iconic tone and aggressive output
  • Tonepros locking TOM bridge/tailpiece give you dependable tuning stability and intonation
  • Set-neck construction gives you long-lasting sustain and excellent articulation

Rock like you mean it, with the ESP LTD Eclipse EC-1000!

A Koa Dream Come True

I am a koa-holic and I saw this beauty at the Sweetwater site. I have a 2014 Gibson Les Paul Studio Pro and a PRS SE Torero (both from Sweetwater), but I didn't want to duplicate the tones of either one. I called my sales engineer Rob and his advice was the metal tones were squarely between those 2. He also said that the fit and finish and playability is comparable to guitars costing up to twice the price. I was doubtful, but decided to pull the trigger. After having this guitar for about 4 months, I can completely agree with him. In fact, I will stretch his upper limit to perhaps 3 times the price. ESP overseas manufacturing and their USA inspection is incredible. The Sweetwater 55-point inspection is an extra bonus. However, this is not a 'melt your face' screaming metal machine... there are others more suitable. But, if you are looking for a serious hard-rockin' guitar with perfect intonation, a sustain lasting as long as a Presidential campaign along with a late Led Zepp/ early metal genre 1990's sound that will take you past the LP metal limit, this is the guitar for you. Probably the widest range of tones from clean piano or harp (yes, really) to serious metal mania of any guitar I have played. By the way, the Sweetwater photos are awesome. However.... even they fail to do justice to the koa grain and coloration on this fine instrument. Both my wife and I were in awe at the beautiful koa. Get one TODAY!

First off, I'm not a metal guy; however, the youtube reviews on this guitar often feature players riffing through arrpegios with various over drive pedals. This beautifully manufactured instrument has such a warm articulate tone that I find it a shame it has not reached a larger audience. I've also found the youtube video's somewhat miss leading, as one of the reviewers mentioned the wide neck. It is not a wide neck but is very similar to recent LP models with a slimmer profile. The glossy finished Koa veneer and matching headstock make for wonderful eye candy. The abolone neck inlay ( which mirrors the headstock shape) coupled with the well dressed ebony fretboard is striking. The pickups emit wonderful bright full bodied tones that cover a lot of ground. With a belly cut and nice neck to body balance this guitar is comfortable to play sitting down or standing up;add cool looking black locking tuners and quality hardware and viola, a star is born. IMO no other music store comes close to Sweetwater's set up, packing,or superb customer service. To sum up; this is a professional grade instrument that can go toe-to-toe with higher end USA guitars.

ESP Quality and Genuine Service

I have another ESP EC-II I purchased from SWEETWATER, and my luthier has always recommended ESP as a Quality Guitar. Their Parts were sought after, and used to modify Standard Guitars, until ESP decided to make their own, and they do a Fantastic Job of it ! It's a SOLID Guitar, with low action, and the Seymour Duncan pick ups sound great. It's smooth Ebony Fret board and five piece neck has a great feel to it ... and I've never seen a neck so straight !! and perfect out of the box. No set up required, so you save money. There was some minor confusion at the beginning, and a Price adjustment that I inquired about on my first purchase, a couple of months ago .... and I was very impressed when my concerns were addressed and resolved OVER and above my expectations. While I got uptight about unimportant things, my Sales Rep always kept his cool, and took care of his whining, bitchy Customer .... NOW I'm looking at AMP HEADS ... from SWEETWATER of course. It's pretty hard to do better than 36 Months no interest, and the way they treat you is pretty unheard of. Don't take my word for it, check it out yourself.

Looks 10 Dances 3

I'm a 'wood' guy! The Pictures that you see are 100% accurate....its Drop Dead Gorgeous!!!! I had it for a month, and I was VERY hard pressed to return it, it was so gorgeous. BUT...... The real negatives are only One Tone Control ? WHY :-( AND the 2 Volume Controls are reversed! Why? It would have cost me an extra $ for my Luthier to fix/modify...andddd the neck was concave :-( $ is more the right price! I tried it out because my other 2 guitars are Steinbergers( cheapo) brooms and I needed a full size to try a Fishman Triple Play on.......that's another long story. I spent one evening going back and forth from my Steinberger ( with other Seymours), to this one....... Bottom line......My Steinberger is much lighter and plays better......doesn't look as good....but hey! This one: Looks 10...Dances 3 ;-( ;-)If you don't have a Primary....then, if you live with what it is. Then :-)
