Ernie Ball Super Slinky Bass Guitar Strings

Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. When you open a pack of his strings today, you know you're getting a quality set of strings designed to give you great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!

Ernie Ball Super Slinky Round Wound Bass Strings are heavily used by both amateurs and professional musicians. Made from nickel plated steel (NPS) windings wrapped around tin plated, hex shaped steel core wire, Slinkys produce a well balanced, all-around great sound, no matter what your playing style.

Why am I the first?

I can't believe that I am the first one to get on here and rave about Super Slinkys. These strings are great for any type of playing and 2/3 of the people I know use them. I keep a set on my Ibanez because they allow me to play a wide range of styles and tonal ranges. I've tuned them down as low as Bb and gotten good response out of them. These strings are amazing and I don't plan on switching any time soon. Life Span: 9/10 Tonal Range: 8/10 Construction: 10/10 Price: 10/10 Overall Quality: 9/10

Great Strings

Ernie Ball strings have been my choice for stings for over 20 years. I have played strings that sounded better but I have never found another brand that is as consistant and such a good value as Ernie Ball. They sound great fresh and when they start to fade I can adjust my attack and still make them sound good. They do not get all chalky, scratchy and tinny sounding as they wear out. I put regular Sinky's on all of my electric guitars and basses and I am confident in my strings on whichever guitar I am playing.

Disappointing. Don't get suckered by the rock stars.

Sounded great for the first week. Then all the bounce went away, and they got dull and lifeless. The low strings became impossible to get any tone out of- too thin. I could hear the slap but not the low note itself. The high strings were OK, but not spectacular. Finally, I broke the A string with my bare hands and the strings weren't even that old. I didn't know how much these strings sucked until I replaced them with medium gauge from a different brand. Don't get suckered by famous endorsements, these strings are a disappointment.
