Ernie Ball Slinky Nickel Strings

Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. When you open a pack of his strings today, you know you're getting a quality set of strings designed to give you great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!

Ernie Ball's Skinny Top Heavy Bottom electric guitar strings are made from nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around a tin-plated hex-shaped steel core wire. They offer a great balanced sound that's neither bright nor too dark.

Deep rich tone

Wow! These Ernie Ball strings blow those Dunlop KFK strings out of the room! And it's funny, because my V is a Kerry King signature. But with the Dunlop strings they seem to get tired after a while. My active pickups react more to these Ernie Ball strings, and I like the difference.

These are really great

These are perfect. Buy in bulk to save money. Balls may not last as long as elixir but they sound better, which is why everyone worth mentioning uses them (see back of packaging). Basically you can change these once a week and still pay less than you would be paying if you used elixir strings or another high dollar coated string.

Great for any Genre

I love these strings. I hear a lot of people saying these are mainly for metal but i disagree. The heavy gauge in the low E, A , D strings help for lower tuning but also helps get your action really low. Because of the thicker gauge, the thicker strings need more tension to get the same pitch as a smaller gauge. Which means the strings are a bit tighter and therefore, can be set for lower action. I wont ever change gauges again. I've tried a bunch and these are my favorite(non metal player).

Rock and Roll

cannot have a better rock sound with these strings. period

I must try these

I just saw a interview with B.B. King where he said he used a similar configuration, and why he did so. It made sense. I gave them a 4 rating only because I have not tried them. However, having used Balls for MANY years, I can only conclude that these will be the answer to the sound, and feel that I want. Ordering as I speak/type!
