Easy-to-dial-in 3-knob layout
The guitarists here at Sweetwater have found getting a great sound with the Double Classic Comp extremely simple, thanks to its streamlined, 3-knob layout. Its Sensitivity knob is essentially a threshold control, allowing you to determine at which level your dynamics will start to get squashed. The Ratio knob is adjustable from 2:1 to 10:1, supplying everything from moderate dynamics control to all-out signal smashing. You also get an Output control for setting the pedal's volume level. Best of all, no matter how you set the Double Classic Comp — subtle or sledgehammer — you can expect musical, studio-quality results.
Effective clean boost
The Analog Alien Double Classic Comp can be used as a tone-enhancing clean boost, able to carry your amp from subtle to full-on overdrive with a few knob twists. Start with the pedal's Sensitivity control at around 3 o'clock. Back the Ratio control off to around 10:00. Finally, set the stompbox's Output control to achieve the amount of clean boost that's musically appropriate for your rig and application.
