A Sweet-modded Iteration of Marshall’s Mighty DSL
Tap into burly Marshall tone anywhere, from your bedroom to the stage, with the Marshall DSL40CR tube combo amp. With per-channel Gain and Volume controls, a dedicated Resonance control, reverb, and an effects loop, the Marshall DSL40CR is ready for your next gig or session. And with its adjustable power level, you can dial in cranked-amp tones that won't wake your neighbors — or even use the Softube speaker-emulated output for direct recording and monitoring. Marshall even refined the EQ section for extremely versatile tone shaping. Moreover, Sweetwater's in-house tube amp technicians have hand-modified this DSL40CR with our most-requested mods to provide you with an expanded sonic palette inspired by Marshall's iconic classic models. Furthermore, the muscular sound of this amplifier's 12-inch Celestion G12M-65 Creamback speaker pairs beautifully with its British-flavored tone, delivering additional low-end grunt, vocal mids, and sweet, refined highs. From glassy cleans to bone-rattling crunch to blistering high gain, your wish is the Marshall DSL40CR's command.

Upgraded by the SWX Mod Shop
The in-house technicians here at the SWX Mod Shop upgraded this Marshall DSL40CR with our most-requested mods, so you can benefit from them as soon as you unbox your new amplifier. First, we revoiced the Classic Gain channel's Clean voice — the Green LED — increasing its gain, giving rise to 1959 Super Lead tones, while leaving the stock Crunch voice. Next, we made modifications to both of the Ultra Gain channel's voices, taking inspiration from Marshall's iconic JCM amplifiers, enabling you to achieve the sweet-sounding, high-octane grind that fueled 1980s metal. Finally, a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback speaker — the modern iteration of the speaker wielded by the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, and Page during the 1960s — rounds out the amplifier, delivering the signature warmth, midrange crunch, and sweet-sounding highs you'd expect from a vintage Celestion, but with increased power handling that's tailor-made for modern amplifiers. What's more, this amplifier is backed by Sweetwater's exclusive 2-year Total Confidence Coverage warranty, which protects you from product defects and malfunctions — a must-have since modding the amplifier voids the manufacturer's warranty.

A 40-watt tone beast
Marshall's DSL40CR is a tube-loaded, twin-channel workhorse capable of conjuring an entire arsenal of British-flavored tones. Four ECC83s in the preamp section, in concert with the amp's Gain/Master volume arrangement, give you stunning tone-shaping mojo, and with two EL34s in the engine room, you have the volume to rule any club in the world. While sporting the same tubes, minus two EL34s, and the same feature set as the original DSL100, this little beast has critical upgrades that give you even more control over your sound, including a Resonance control that lets you dial in your preferred amount of low-end girth, a studio-grade digital reverb, High and Low power settings, and a bypassable rear-panel series effects loop. The Marshall DSL40CR also has a 2-way footswitch for channel switching and reverb on/off.
The DSL series: a revered tonal heritage
The Marshall DSL40CR tube combo amp hails from a revered lineage. Marshall introduced the JCM2000 Dual Super Lead (DSL) series amps in 1997. From the start, these all-tube monsters enjoyed enthusiastic approval from guitarists and the press alike, forming the backlines of top acts across all musical genres and bludgeoning audiences worldwide for a decade before being replaced by Marshall's JVM series, which is a musical powerhouse in its own right. Considered the go-to rock amp by many tone-savvy guitarists, DSL amps remain in high demand; therefore, Marshall is proud to introduce the new-and-improved DSL series with the DSL40CR.
