Enough simultaneous inputs to track the whole band

Track the whole band at once, with the TASCAM DP-24SD Digital Portastudio. The DP-24SD comes loaded with eight individual inputs. Each input is equipped with an XLR-1/4" combo jack and a microphone preamplifier, complete with phantom power for your condenser mics. That means even if you use a handful of microphones on drums and a couple more on guitars and bass, you'll still have an input left on the DP-24SD to track vocals.

Loaded with onboard effects and powerful built-in signal processors

No studio is complete without quality effects and signal processors. That's why TASCAM loaded their DP-24SD Digital Portastudio with a ton of studio-style tools. Record with vital processors such as equalizers, compressors, and limiters, while the DP-24SD's onboard guitar-amp-simulation engine adds real amplifier sound to your instrument input. You can sweeten your sound with reverb, chorus, and other enhancements during mixdown. What's more, the TASCAM DP-24SD's powerful onboard mastering effects let you get the most out of your final mixes.

Intuitive channel-strip-style controls make tracking and mixing easy

Why wade through tedious menus for the controls that should be close at hand? TASCAM built the DP-24SD to be both powerful and intuitive to use, with none of the frustrating awkwardness that plagues over-engineered gear. The DP-24SD's simple master channel-strip section gives you hands-on controls for your channel EQ, pan, and send settings. There's also an easy-to-read color display that gives you instant feedback as you tweak your channel settings, effects, and processors, as well as dedicated controls for all essential recording functions.

TASCAM DP-24SD

Well so far so good. Stated with being impressed with the service and follow-up from Sweetwater,The TASCAM DP-24SD is exactly what I was looking for and more. I'm trying to do the singer/songwrite/small band thing and so far so good. Althought I've recorded before I never paid any attention to the process. The whole software on my computer approach was more than I wanted to take on. The TASCAM DP-24SD gave me a comfort zone I didn't expect. Everything is logical and I set it up to record 4 channels off the floor pretty much out of the box. The sound quailty is great. Still have a lot to figure out ( haven't been able to get reverb on the vocals yet) and it will take some time so I will keep you posted.

Great unit

So......I find it a pain to record directly to computer - I do a little bit of that using a focusright scarlet punching in parts etc but its not as fun. I've recorded 3 albums with this and counting. I do use an outboard Presonus channel strip for vocal tracks but the onboard pres are pretty good. good onboard effects are good even though I can't get a handle on the noise suppression. Biut this is what I do - I record on the tascam then audio port the tracks to the SD card then carry it over to the Mac and drag the tracks into logic. You can connect USB to computer but why? pop the USB out and drop into your DAW. Given the choice.....spend the extra on the 32SD - If using a live kit...drums can take the first 8 and who wants to bounce down and all that crap.....sure Beatles did it with 4 but they woulda loved 32!

Outstanding customer service!!

I made the purchase for my husband. He is very pleased with the product. But, moreover, we are extremely pleased with the customer service we receive from Sweetwater! Every purchase is followed up by a phone call. We receive email support & follow-up, and Live customer support to answer any/ all of our questions. And we receive the products the very next day! You guys are great!!

Easy to Use, and very Productive

Excellent product, I had the 8 track and upgraded to this unit...the ability to record several inputs was enough for me... Very well built, and a upgraded memory (32gb) there isn't much you can't do with this machine!!!

Tascam is Awesome! Love My DP-24!

Hey I love my DP-24. I have the version with the CD burner, but who needs the burner anyway if you can just transfer your master files to the computer and burn the CD. This thing is great with the LCD screen, dedicated EQ and effect sends per channel. The preamps are nice with the ability to apply noise suppression to the inputs for gating. Also the mastering effects are great. All you need at the end of the day when mastering is keep it simple and efficient. So the mastering EQ, Compressor (Single-band or Multi-band), Noise-shaper, and Normalizer (which usually don't use) is all that's needed. I've never worked with midi (unless using a midi keyboard is considered using midi because I produce my beats in a DAW), but the unit does have a midi in and out. Hey this thing gives you an all-in-one digital and analog feel for recording and hands-on for mixing and mastering! Get one! To those who feel it lacks all the extra stuff as old multitrackers (in which I have a Boss BR-1600CD which has a lot more features), what's the point if having a unit with a bunch of features that you won't even use and limit your time of creating awesome music? The DP-24 has all you need to get polished, professional tracks quickly.
