The pros choose DiMarzio!

DiMarzio's Air Norton began as a bridge humbucker for high-gain amps with a distinctive sound, but it soon found favor as a pretty cool neck pickup, as well. At the bridge, it's hot but not too hot; in the neck slot, the Air Norton is deep and warm, but not muddy. The magnetic structure is designed to reduce string-pull, which improves sustain, and it yields picking attack and dynamics that are easily controlled and expressive. Capture the tone you've been looking for with the Air Norton, a truly unique humbucker.

Air Norton Ibanez Rg Neck

Got this pickup yesterday for my Ibanez Rg Prestige. It has a basswood body and i noticed not many pickups sound good with basswood. But this pickup struck a perfect balance with my basswood bodied Rg.It sounds warm and deep, accentuating the basswood. But instead of getting drowned out like many pickups i tried before, it will surprise you with its almost single coil like clarity. It is fantastic, its both warm /deep AND bright/clear at the same time! The pick attack is very expressive and you can play it the way you would usually play on the bridge pickup if you so wish. All with the semi harmonics and everything! Very sensitive. It is also very dynamic, picking hard or soft will make allot of difference difference in sound. And there is a big range to this.It is a loud pickup but not distorted or overwhelming. So you can pretty much have your volume around 10 all the time whether your playing clean or dirty.I tried it from clean to high gain lead so far and it sounds exceptionally good.

Good pickup for the money

has a nice vocal wah sound when used in the neck position. Lots of harmonics too. I paired it with the Tone Zone and 1 meg pots for volume and tone control with a .047 orange drop cap. It is bright with the pots but the orange drop reigns it in when you roll the tone back a bit.
