It's got the power and quality to base your band's PA on, with built-in feedback suppression, six voicing modes, and up to 300ms of delay for alignment in larger speaker arrangements. High power and big sound for a wide range of applications

The Mackie DLM8 packs a lot of power - 2,000 watts, to be precise. And its smart design makes it the ideal speaker for lots of different uses: use a pair as main speakers on speaker poles, wall-mount it as a backfill speaker in your venue, or get a contractor to fly it with standard M10 rigging hardware. It's even got a kickstand, so you can angle it back for use as a stage monitor. The DLM8 has the power and flexibility to excel in almost any sound reinforcement situation.

Built-in mixer and effects are perfect for solo performances

While the high power and performance of the DLM8 is perfect as part of your main rig, the flexible XLR/TRS combo inputs and RCA inputs make it a great speaker for solo use. Connect your drum machine, your guitar, or a vocal microphone, and you're ready to go. Plus, you've got 16 built-in effects to polish your sound. Do all of this without requiring a separate mixer.

Smart DSP enhances your sound and saves you time

The Mackie DLM8 powered loudspeaker is smart. It's got multiband feedback suppression, built-in Smart Protect DSP to protect the drivers from signal clipping, and there are six speaker voice modes to help you fine-tune your sound. And once you've got your sound dialed in for a particular room or venue, you can save those settings to one of three memory locations for instant recall the next time you play that room.

True portability, even with your 2-door hatchback

Mackie's DLM8 powered loudspeaker is about 1/3 smaller than most 2-way speakers, and it's unbelievably lightweight - less than 22 pounds! Best of all, you can stack multiple DLM8 speakers when you're transporting them, so you can fit a complete DLM rig in virtually any vehicle.

Mackie DLM8 Powered Loudspeaker Features:

  • Ultra-compact design is highly portable

Great Sounding & Versatile PA!

I picked up a DLM8 as a personal guitar/vocal monitor and/or main for practices and small gigs, and it's GREAT for that, but what actually inspired me to write this review is being "stuck" over the weekend with needing to provide a PA rig for karaoke at a house party when it hit me... I've got the whole rig right here! Channel 1 for mic and channel 2 for music (friend's "karaoke laptop" via 1/8"-RCA cable). Add DLM's individual channel reverb and EQ - and the holy grail of a built-in feedback eliminator - and the whole "rig" was totally set-it-and-forget-it. Once I got it set up (two minutes later), the party went on into the wee hours, and one "tiny" DLM was more than enough to fill the room, with plenty of headroom left over. Great job, Mackie! Now I'm an unwilling karaoke DJ too!

Compact and versatile

This speaker is really great! First of all I love the size of this thing. Simply can put these in the back of your trunk and not have to play tetris when loading in. I do a lot of weddings where discreet PA is important. Most of my clients don't want to see huge speakers covering their cake or blocking view from guest and I simply brought these speakers for its size and cosmetic reasons. However, this speaker has many features not found such as a digital display, speaker settings, EFX, feedback destroyer, delay stacking which can cost lots of money if brought separately. I have done weddings of up to 300 guest... but I have used these with two mackie dlm subs and they are just enough. If you are looking to bring the house down... these are not your speakers... obviously the size is a given even with the 2,000 as advertised. They do sound nice and clear... but the low end will not do much. Overall, I love these speakers and have grown to appreciate all its uses such as ceremonies, back up, monitors, and fill in.

Perfect monitor or solo rig

My church just got three DLM8 along with a full DLM system and we mostly use the DLM8s for stage monitors. Everything cuts through really nicely and the feedback eliminator was a lifesaver since I do most of the mixing, but don't have tons of experience. Learning as I go... We also use them for some singer/songwriter events and don't even bring along a mixer anymore. The DLM8 has all the connections and mixing ability needed.

Mackie DLM8s Shine!

I just picked up a couple DLM8s, primarily for rehearsals (with a mixer), but also for small coffee house gigs (using just the built-in digital mixer on the back). They are fantastic. So compact and lightweight, they are easy to mount tripod stands. Fire 'em up and they are super loud and the sound quality is unreal. I've been using them for vocals, keys and acoustic guitars and could not be happier - Powerful, compact, easy. Mackie does it again.
