Sunny Goodness in Every Tone!

I got this amp to solve a specific problem: I'd just gotten an Ibanez RG8, and my Danelectro micro-amp, while fine for a 6-string, just couldn't handle the lower strings of a down-tuned 8.Now, 1 or 2 Watts would usually be fine for my tiny apt., but the tiny speakers which go with the tiny amps just don't cut it for low notes. And the little tube amps are too darn loud, plus I don't want to be shelling out for new tubes. So I picked this little guy based on overall good reviews online, and (mainly) because of the three-band EQ and the separate Overdrive and Gain controls. Which means to the ears that I can dial in sounds from squeaky-clean to swamp-thing crunge, and do so at any volume! And that is good, good, good!In this case, my theory turned out to be correct- this one does what I need, and does it very well. In addition, the headphone sound is also very good. That cabinet-simulation thing is pretty accurate, down to the hiss and sputter of a cranked amp at full treble. (No, that wasn't my lights, I checked.)Finally, I also hate "modeled" amp sounds, which many other little amps feature nowadays. I prefer to model my own sound, which requires adequate control. Which this amp gives me. Overall quality is, of course, excellent. If you want a versatile solid-state combo for low-volume situations, you won't be disappointed! And last but not least, it also looks great.

Excellent Value and performance

This is the first instrument amp I've owned. It goes with my 3 string cigar box dulcitar beautifully. Plenty of volume with enough options to record thru it or practice. Many thanks to my SW rep for his advice and help.

Love it.

Tom pretty much nailed it. It's got some beef to it and it's perfect for a small room. It sounds a bit darker than I was hoping but that's buy no means a deal breaker-- I suspect this amp would complement a single coil setup much better than it does my Jackson Dinky. Great simple design that's nice to look at. There's a gap between the faceplate of the controls and the actual knobs which seems kinda weird, but I can deal with it

Got this for my son. I was going to give him my Fender Superchamp x2 15W tube amp. Which is a great little tube amp but he decided to stay with this one. He really likes the tone and the drive is very authentic Orange. he gets great tone both dirty and clean. He is really diggin this little amp. Wish it had the onboard tuner like the Orange Crush Pix 3watt. If they can get a tuner in that one they should have been able to get one in this one. That is the only reason I gave it a 4.5 instead of a 5. great little amp.

Orange Crush 12-Watt

Bought this as a backup practice amp (while waiting on pre-amp tubes for my other amp). Big Led Zeppelin I sound!! Couldn't believe it! Recommend for back-up. Give your tube amp a break every once in awhile.
