Catalinbread Crooner Preamp Pedal
Sells separately for $179.99Many of the chart-topping hits from the 1960s had one thing in common: the RCA-based mic preamp that brought artists’ voices to life. The engineering masterminds at Catalinbread have tapped into the lineage of these vintage preamp modules to bring you the Crooner. Starting with a germanium-and-transformer preamp circuit, the Crooner captures the colorful warmth and dynamic range of these preamps that are still talked about among audio engineers to this day. Together with a UREI-inspired discrete op-amp, an unending array of saturated tones is under your control via the Push and Trim knobs, from subtle clean boosts to harmonically rich saturation and distortion. Meanwhile, the Filter control sets the ideal amount of treble to best suit any guitar in your arsenal. Incorporating a vintage console sound into your pedalboard becomes a simple endeavor with the stompbox-sized Crooner from Catalinbread.
