Four Revered Instruments in One Ultimate Bundle
Imagine forming a string quartet with amazing musicians playing legendary instruments like a Stradivari violin, a Guarneri violin, an Amati viola, and a Stradivari cello, all recorded with 32 microphones in a world-class auditorium. If this sounds like a pipe dream, then Sweetwater has great news: that's precisely what you get with the Cremona Quartet Bundle for the Kontakt Player! Native Instruments partnered with e-instruments to bring its renowned recording and sampling methods to Cremona, Italy, in order to capture this stunning all-star team in the equally stunning Auditorium Giovanni Arvdei. The result is not one but two incredible libraries — Cremona Quartet Solo and Cremona Quartet Ensemble — that enable you to compose both solo and ensemble parts using these historic string instruments. Impeccable sound quality aside, the Cremona Quartet Bundle features some thoughtful features that make crafting emotive solo and ensemble string parts easier than ever. The advanced Auto Divisi system allows you to create ultra-realistic string quartet arrangements with ease by dynamically distributing notes and chords among the four instruments of the ensemble, and you only need one MIDI keyboard to do it! The Cremona Quartet Bundle also sports 20 distinct articulations as well as an Articulation Matrix with which you can create your own articulation combinations and assign them to custom keys. Finally, controls for dynamics, expression, and mic positions let you make your soloist or your quartet sound as intimate or as grandiose as you would like.
Note: This product requires Kontakt Full or Kontakt Player to operate. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have questions.

Meet your superhero instruments
The featured instruments contained within the Cremona Quartet Bundle form a metaphorical musical Justice League. They're all housed in Cremona, Italy's Museo Del Violino, and kept under constant supervision. Only a handful of musicians have ever been allowed to play them, but the Cremona Quartet Bundle brings them straight to your home studio!
- Stradivari violin: Antonio Stradivari is the most famous violin luthier in history. Built in 1727 at the end of his golden period, this “Vesuvius” violin is one of his most renowned.
- Guarneri violin: While Stradivari is the world's most famous violin luthier, many violinists and composers consider Guarneri del Gesù to be Il fior fiore. This "Prince Doria" violin was built in 1734 and still remains one of the best-sounding concert violins ever made.
- Amati viola: Stradivari might be the most famous, and del Gesù the best, but Andrea Amati is internationally recognized as the inventor of the violin itself. The "old man" of the ensemble, this "Stauffer" viola was actually built by Andrea's son, Gerolamo, in 1614. Its exquisite sound quality continues to amaze even today.
- Stradivari cello: Stradivari made other instruments as well, like this "Stauffer" cello, which he crafted in 1700. Its immensely rich low end deftly fills out the bottom of the Cremona Quartet Bundle. One listen and you'll immediately understand why this cello is listed as an Italian national treasure!
Easily compose epic string arrangements
One of our favorite features of the Cremona Quartet Bundle is its Auto Divisi function. It dynamically distributes single notes and 4-note chords to each ensemble instrument. Auto Divisi essentially contains three ways of playing. First, Dynamic Instrument Assignment assigns one note per instrument according to its natural range. Next, Polyphonic Legato produces natural legato transitions for all long articulations for all four instruments, providing you with unparalleled realism. Finally, Solo Melodies lets you perform expressive legato melodies on any instrument by simply playing the next note shortly before you release the previous note. Between these three characteristics, crafting string quartet arrangements has never been easier nor sounded better!
